As part of a release of repackaged Hercule Poirot mysteries, readers are reintroduced to \"one of Christie\'s most ingenious stories, a tour de force\" (\"Newsweek\"). Hercule Poirot and the recently widowed Captain Arthur Hastings return to the scene of their first investigation many years before. Joining them at the estate is a mysterious stranger linked to five seemingly unrelated murders. Poirot must work quickly to prevent the sixth murder.

Poirot returns to the scene of his very first crime to solve a mystery that will be his last.

Curtain to an enthralling series

Well, this is the last of Poirot's cases - as blatantly pointed out by the tagline on the cover. The book as a whole is not much of a thriller, despite the fact that a murderer is on the lurk and a murder is assuredly expected. Then again, Poirot's last catch is no 'Professor Moriarty' - rather it i… (View complete review)

good read

The book was excellent....made quite an interesting read....however the pleasure was marred by the incompetency displayed by flipkart to deliver the product at the doorstep despite repeated reminders.

Not such a good read.

This book was too slow from the beginning and the murder takes place after 200 pages of the book.It is just like Endless Night, where there is not much clues and investigation. This book was dull and not the usual, interesting Hercule Poirot book. Was quite boring.

********************************************SPOILER***************************************************

This climax was similar to the one in And Then There Were None.

Rousing conclusion to Poirot's career

As the title clearly says, this is Poirot's last case. So, it is definitely not the place to start with Agatha Christie or Poirot.

With that out of the way, this novel is exceedingly brilliant. We come to revisit familiar people and places in a typical locked house mystery. There are the usual assortment of English characters of different personalities. Then there is our hero Poirot and his ever faithful Hastings. The criminal mastermind X is unique in the author's work and possibly the first such characterization in fiction at the time of publication. Christie builds up the suspense …

Curtain:Poirot's Last Case - The most delicious book by Christie

Written in the first-person narrative of Captain Hastings, this book is the best one by Dame Agatha Christie. I'm too baffled to tell you just how amazing this book is. Poor old Papa Poirot dies in this book, which is quite a shock. As always, the end intrigues one beyond measures. This book, however, is far more intriguing than the others ever written by the author. I don't want to spoil your reading experience by divulging anything... My verdict : Go for this. Thumbs up!

The book as a whole is not much of a thriller, despite the fact that a murderer is on the lurk and a murder is assuredly expected. Then again, Poirot's last catch is no 'Professor Moriarty' - rather it is a subtle person - who can be anywhere without being Conspicuous and who kills without killing. I can't decide if it is good or bad. May be I would have preferred a much more splendid and fast plot to end a crowning career and life.

Though you know beforehand that Poirot dies in the story,…

Have a go.

For a Christie/Poirot fan like me, a must read. Otherwise too, any reader will enjoy the all setting. After the initial (usual) plot setting, the book is a gripper. One cannot say Christie at her best but makes a good and entertaining treat. Get it and have a crack friends.

Interesting Read

This is the last case in the Hercules Poirot series by Agatha Christie. No one could have imagined such a surprising end to such an amazing series. Reading this was totally worth it, especially because I am a thorough poirot fan.

If you are getting started on the Poirot series or haven't read agatha christie before, then I would not recommend this book, because it's the last one. I was very happy with the book.
