D-Link DIR-615 Wireless-N 300 Router

For thos who are getting continous disconnection please refer to this
1.- Open the DIR-615 router configuration page by entering the following address in your browser: http://192.168.0.1
2.- Put your user and password (I assume you have configured it). If you have never changed the router password the just write admin on the login and DO NOT write a password.
3.- Enter the ADVANCED menu of the DIR-615 Router
4.- I the ADVANCED menu, click the ADVANCED NETWORK option from the lateral menu of the D-LINK DIR-615
5.- Click WAN PORT SPEED and chose 10mbps not 100 or 10/100. Then everything should work now. No more lost internet signal.
Note- if ur internet connection is slow then chage it to 10 from 100mbps

Two parameters are the most important in any router for me. Security and range.

The former being fully customizable from WPA2 to WEP and proxies. A control center with a huge amount of other options that would more that suffice any household and small office need.

Range is not incredible but it gets through 2-3 walls with ease. Depends on your receptor too. Like my laptop catches a better signal and gets longer range than my BB or iPhone.

All in all, a very good bet. PS: Another one up for external omnidirectional antennae.

I have been using this for last 15 days. I am getting full strength anywhere in my small apartment.Its best feature is its Dual antenna, but I am annoyed by its reset button.

Configuring the router is a bit tricky and I had to pay money to a technician.But believe me its not at all hard. I am posting here the steps to configure the router. Hope it will benefit many.

1. Set up the connection as mentioned(depends upon your internet connection).

2. No need of the CD. Just switch the power ON and enter 192.168.0.1 in your browser.

3. Run the network setup wizard(you will be prompted to enter SSID, password,IP address,DNS and all those stuffs and the type of IP example Private IP....)

4. The wizard will automatically configure your router.
So go forward and Enjoy your Wi-Fi....:)

Flipkart delivered the product within 3 days, as said, with pretty good packaging.

The D-Link Wireless-N 300 router -

- seamless to setup (no need of a technical guy, just run the wizard and in 15 min you are done)

- works well with a Hathway cable modem

- provides good range (can access the network from two rooms away, through walls)

- Good support from D-Link

So go ahead and buy this product from flipkart. Definitely a best buy in this category.

I was confused a lot as was buying a wireless router for the first time( never needed one so far). I bought a belkin N150 first. The set up was tough, had to call up belkin support and the range was poor. I could return it( was not bought from flipkart) thankfully.
I had read good reviews of this online and decided to take a chance with it
1. The install was simple, just put the CD and the rest will be done.
2. The range is better, though i really do not know what use do the antennas have, but i have a better reception than the netgear N150. I have not explored any other features and cannot comment on detailed technical aspects.
Overall i feel its a good bet at this price, not sure though how does it compare to 300 series from belkin and netgear.
Rating it 4 as i feel that the price could be 200 bucks lower to make it a super buy.
PS:My house is 1800 sqft+ and has thick walls
