PROS : Good Range, ADSL Modem + WiFi Router, Optimum price for a 300N Modem + Router, Stylish Looks, Security Options
CONS : USB Speed 2.5 MB/s max
Searching for a ADSL + WiFi router to get rid of the basic ISP provided modem & wires at my home and also to enable multiple access to my MTNL Broadband Connection so after searching zeroth down to this one.
A bit tricky to setup at one go as the configurations are a bit more segregated(on diff pages) as compared to other routers but if you have configured Routers before it would not be a problem.
Strange that you will get only the advanced Setting while setting it up through Default IP. For wizard you have to connect the CD.
Main concern for a WiFi router is the range and it didn't disappoint me in this aspect. Easily crosses 2/3 walls to covers my 1000sq ft house even when its currently placed at one end of the house. Easily able to to stream video to my Xperia PLAY even at the end of farthest room.
Have all the basic features like IP filtering, MAC address Binding, Firewall, WEP & WPA security also it includes options to setup guest networks, save profile settings for later use, different access privileges to admin, support and end user. have to explore more on this :)
A nice feature but the Data Rate(UP/Down) is restricted to 2.5 MB/s. It will not be much of a problem while accessing the data directly(Movies etc.) but copying takes a lot of time.
A nice purchase for this price. Does perfectly what its intended to do.
First of all I search a lots before buying this router, because before this I purchased I-ball's router, and I had a worst experience with iball. :(
I am writing this review after heavy use and this router passed all my tests
-Easy to setup
-Content in box ;)
-Great range (You can easily use in your entire home without dropping any signal strength)
-I just love the USB port in it (I am using printer but you can attache hard drive or a 3g dongle)
-Works like a charm no connection dropout issue
-Design wise looks great
-Easily connect wirelessly with my mobile and laptop
-Sometimes router took time to connect with Internet
-Installation CD fully useless, can't even detect router :P
-It became difficult to use USB port to new users who never ever experience with router stuff
-Worst User Interface I ever seen in any router. (Even BSNL offers good UI)
It is best router I had ever came across, Worth to buy
Deserved 5 out of 5 stars.
So my modem of 3 years (got with my BSNL connection) finally left for the heavenly aboard and I was left looking for another modem. This time I wanted my own device (so that I save on the monthly rent!)and with the existence of three wi-fi enabled devices I was tempted to buy a modem cum router.
After reading about such hybrid devices on the internet for a week, I finally zeroed on to this baby from D-Link. I've been using it for almost a week now and the device is delivering excellent performance. The CD installation failed on my laptop for the first time around but it worked on my second laptop. Search on the internet for how to setup the modem manually in case the CD installation fails. If the CD works then its a breeze installing the device but if it fails don't worry and take help from google.
The range of the wi-fi is decent. It does get slow if it is installed at a location which is on one corner of the house (2000sq feet & two storeyed)and you're sitting on your laptop in another corner of the house. However, if you install the device somewhere in between the house and in an open location then it'll work with a strong signal.
Flipkart delivered the product to me in 2 days time. I had ordered it on COD. The packing was very good and the dealing with the person who delivered to me the product was smooth. All in all an excellent transaction.
Thank you Flipkart for your services!
Sleek and stylish in black, it doesn't occupy much space.
Easy setup, and great range. Mine remains ON for almost 20 hours a day and it has never given up once in over 4 months of usage.
4 Ports for wired machines, and a provision to switch OFF wireless when not required (just use LAN Cables)
If you are looking for a Wireless router for MTNL/BSNL, this is the one. There will be the N-150 option, but bite the bullet and get this N-300 for the better range.
Got this router for my MTNL connection as the default router given by MTNL ( W3002-GA ) had a poor range. The best features about this router are
- Very very very very very easy setup. Yes, that's 5 very's to Dlink's credit. I set this up in 5 minutes on a Windows 7 64-bit PC & two laptops. I didn't even enter any IP addresses to setup my MTNL connection on it.
- Very lightweight router and adapter.
- Looks good. I somehow don't like the Belkin routers which are white and have a vertical design since my router is placed on a table. This one is black and is horizontally designed.
- Good range - works well for me in an 825 sq ft home and crosses 2-3 walls with no hiccups. ( my router is in one corner of the home )
PS - I didn't buy this router from Flipkart.
