Dapic X 27 MP3 Player

I got this after a long wait from flipkart.

The GOOD features are :-

1. Music quality is pretty good (4/5).

2. The built quality is not so great but it is not a fingerprint magnet,it has a matt finish and though its sturdy and solid, its a little big in size (70mm x 27mm x 13mm).

3. You get options like Now Playing,Recorder,FM radio,FM transmitter,File Manager and Settings.

4. You get an equalizer with options like normal,pop,classical,bass,rock,jazz and user which can be redefined accordingly in the settings menu and this my friends simply superb.

5. The volume control is also easy to use and its volume is good, you won't ever need to crank it to the full volume.

6. The headphones supplied are just crap but the look nice.
The sound like crap too so its better u get a good headphone around Rs.500/- like Phillips SHS 390 (which i bought along this player)or so and they are amazing when paired with this mp3 player.

7. The sound clarity is very good.

8. The screen is multi-coloured but don't expect a colorful interface.

9. Its has FM transmitter which transmits the music being played at the same volume as it is set (that is, if increase the volume during transmission, the volume of the transmitted audio also increases with it.You can select any channel (from 87.00 to 108.00 MHz on it, like the usual FM radio channels we get like RED FM and so on) and set the same channel in your car audio or mobile phone and receive it in the range of 10 metres. The clarity is good without any distortion while transmitting too.

10. Music files are classified into All Songs, Albums,Artists and Genres. You can also view the folders too but in File Manager option only.

11. You can record through inbuilt mic and record FM too and the quality is good too.But you can't delete recorded audio or music files on it.

12. You can store 20 FM stations and the reception is good when the headset wires are not tangled (tangled wires restrict induction by electromagnetic radio waves so keep the antenna or the headphone wires straight or long as much as possible.

13. It shows the memory status and date and time though the time and date will be lost if it is reset.

14. The screen has a screen guard even though the screen is a little down into the body of the player.

15. The keys are easy to operate but a little hard.

16. You can adjust the recording quality from low to medium or high which is also applicable for brightness of the screen as well.

17.You can set Sleep Shutdown,Screen Off, Auto Shutdown,Play Mode from Settings Menu.

18. The charging time is as specified 3 hours.

19. The playback time i got after intense use was 20 hours. You will get 40 hours with the headphones that comes with it but not with good headphones.

20. The standby time is very good , i hadn't used it for 3 or 4 days it still got 3 bars out of 5 on the battery icon.

21. It comes with a charger and USB cord which are good and easy to use.

22. Connecting it to your PC and sharing music is very easy. Make sure you arrange the music files into folders as it does not have playlist option.

The BAD features are :-

1. It hangs a lot, even during scrolling up and down the music files. It might not switch off even though it shows the off icon.
You should reset the player every time it happens or just switch it off and try again.
You lose the date and time if you rest it so its better you switch it off and on again than just hitting the reset button all the time.

2. The headphones are crap. No clarity, quality, bass or anything else that is good.

3. No playlist Option available. It plays according to alphabetical order or artist wise or album wise or so.

4. The write speed is low.

5. The buttons are hard and very small and needs to be used frequently to make them soft.

6. The interface is not so user friendly.(how you go from Now Playing to Settings, Song Selection, etc are all a little hard to understand at first. The Play button is at the edge along with the hold key and A-B button rather than with the scroll button. The centre button is for selection and menu rather than the normal play/pause button.)

7. The screen in the picture is not the the playing interface. Its just illustration. The actual screen is dull.

8. You can't upgrade the software as said in the user manual and can't access the company's site for other details.

9. You have to mail the warranty card with in 14 days of the purchase of the product to the company or it not be given ! year warranty.

FINAL VERDICT :-

Yes it a great player with a wide range of features but with a bit of problems like frequent hangs, time and date loss but if you are looking for a good player for the least price with a screen then this might be your one.

And if you are ready to throw a bit more cash better go for Phillips GoGear or Mix series or even Sony WalkMan series or best buy a good phone and then buy a good set of headphones too.

I JUST GIFTED ONE TO MY ELDER BROTHER AS A TIME PASS MP3 PLAYER DURING HIS JOURNEY TO OFFICE AND OTHER PLACES. I DID NOT HEARD ABOUT THE PRODUCT BEFORE. I JUST TOOK A CHANCE AND BOUGHT IT. LET ME EXPLAIN THE PRODUCT

1. RUBBERISED COATED BODY.
2. COLOUR DISPLY...BUT NOT VIVID...NOT REQUIRED FOR A BASIC MP3 PLAYER.
3. SOUND IS GOOD...CLEAR....GOOD BASS(NOT LIKE SONY), BUT VERY DECENT BALANCED.
4.MENU SYSTEM IS BIT TRICKY..
5. FM RECEIVER
6. FM TRANSMITTER. YOU WILL NOT GET IT IN OTHER MP3 PLAYER
7. NOT QUALITY HEAD PHONES..DONT EXPECT SONY OR SENNHISER QUALITY AT THAT PRICE.
8. BATTERY BACK UP IS REALLY GOOD.
9. DATA CABLE AND CHARGER PROVIDED.

10 . HANGS A LOT IF DONT HANDLE IT NICELY...FAST OPERATION MAY HANG IT..RESET HOLE IS THERE...
11. THERE IS A GAP IN TWO HALFS OF BODY..SO BODY IS NOT DUST OR WATER PROOF..SO HANDLE IT CAREFULLY..

12.USE BETTER HEAD PHONE FOR BEST SOUND..

13. I HAVE SONY ,PHILIPS,IBALL MP3 PLAYERS....IT SOUNDS VERY GOOD AT THE PRICE OFFERED..

HAVE A TRY AND U WILL NOT REGRET IF U WANT GOOD MP3 PLAYER IN THIS PRICE.

Special:
1. Really good battery Song Play time even with FM Transmission
2. Perhaps the only MP3 Player with FM Transmitter (Good Feature for Car Stereo without USB port for wireless song Play) in this Price range.
3. Loud and Clear
4. Good Menu Display Screen.

Didn't Like:
1. Very complicated Navigation.
2. Poorly placed and designed Play/Pause,On/Off button (It is a single button on the side edge) at the cost of Use less A-B repeat button and Hold button.
3. Require Line-In cable(Good FM Transmission) or Head-Phone(Working FM Transmission).
4. It requires Cable for Data-Transfer and Charging(No Built in USB Connector)
5. Hangs frequently largely due to complicated Menu and Navigation.
6. No line in Cable is Provided.

Got the products in 3 days, as Sunday came in between, else i am sure it would have been 2 days. So Flipkart gets 5/5.

About the player, the sound is very clear,bass is excellent, volume level is very high and the sound does not break at all at higher volumes.

Earphones are just satisfactory, they have less bass and more treble, not a very good companion to the player. I coupled the player with my Creative EP-630 earphones. The output was just too awesome.

Certainly a recommended player for the price, Although would recommend buying better earphones for the player.

I was dissatisfied first for making an order on this one. But it's really a wonderful player..because of its features (who gets a 40hr playback for Rs.1245/- with all other features)

As mentioned in the above reviews.. "It hangs a lot" so, I should every-time change the default time and date.. that irritates and the headphones.. I'm reusing it so that I can buy a new one..

And the ebook option.. tough to read on the tiny screen.. fingers ache too (because, buttons are hard). So, didn't explore the real use of this feature.
Otherwise no bad issues so far. Really happy that I got a good player :)

I use for 3-4 hrs everyday and it's been 10 days or so.. I haven't charged the player for the second time.
