Dark Souls (Prepare to Die Edition)

Sometimes words are not sufficient enough to describe an experience as epic and mesmerizing as the one Dark Souls provides.

So much have been discussed about the (in?)famous difficulty of this game and while that being true, that never feels like cheap tricks employed by the developers.You will most definitely die often, most of the times because of your impatience and misjudgment but with each death, you also learn more about your as well as enemy's strengths and weaknesses.This is a game that rewards patience,skill and tactics unlike any other.

But difficulty is not the only ace that DS holds, this is an unbelievably deep RPG which allows to master an extremely deep combat system.The various interconnected locations of the forsaken world of Lordan are hauntingly beautiful beyond imagination and holds more secrets than you may ever find out.
Unlike most games the lore and all parts of story are not always told explicitly, rather the characters you meet and the items you find across the journey helps you to draw your own conclusions to certain events.

With a mesmerizing world and characters,incomparable level and enemy designs, unique multiplayer/PVP system and arguably the best ever combat system in any RPG, dark souls is a masterpiece that must be experienced by every RPG lover. I bet you will not stop thinking about it even in your sleep.

Designed to test your very mettle as a player, Dark Souls will not go easy on you. Old-school gamers will be delighted to find a game so ridiculously tough, that dying is treated as a learning mechanism. If your staple diet is Call of Duty and Angry Birds, this is not for you. But for those true gamers, this is a must-buy. Over 50 hours in, this is The best Action-RPG I have ever experienced. Superb combat, and ruthless enemies. The multiplayer is unique and innovative, and a superb addition to the package. (Being able to invade other's worlds and murder them for cool stuff never gets old)

Don't think, just buy it. I promise you will not be disappointed.

I play all kinds of games especially the ones with swords and dragons in it. I am a huge fan of the Dark Souls/ Demon Souls franchise and this game is fantastic. I wont think twice to say this games is the best game I have ever played. Having said that - it is not for evey one. If you are the type who will not rest until you have finished a boss who looks absolutely impossible to beat then this is for you. As the game tag line says 'Prepare to Die'..a million times. If you are not prepared dont buy the game.

Although it is written at the back of its cover that u need to have an x-box controller but, u will see that keyboard will also do the same work . The mouse pointer still remains with the game play screen which sucks out all the juice . So to hide the mouse pointer , u need to use the x-box controller (which comes at the same price) instead of the mouse.

The game is very challenging and clearly u will understand that if u r not a hardcore gamer then u will have a hard time completing this game (yeah completing this game for a naive player means he is lucky enough to kill the high level monsters in the hundredth time though !)

one more problem for windows 8 users is their already-installed "game for windows" will not work and so here is a solution :-
1> make a windows live profile .
2> uninstall the already-installed "games for windows" from control panel .
3> download the JUST older version of "games for windows" from the internet and install it.
4> since u r having windows 8 and u r running an older version of "games for windows" , it will be detected automatically and it will ask for installing updates. so, install the updates and finish it and enjoy the game

for the mouse pointer that remains:-
it drives me so crazy that i wish to break the dvds 01/10

as xbox controller is needed although u can use a mouse - 02/10

This game is especially dedicated for Hardcode gamers. If you try to face the challenge to fight the bosses then you can go for this game. This is a very difficult game to complete fully and max out your character levels and acquiring all items. This will take atleast a year to get your max level character.

There are totally 7 playthrough that varies in difficulties. You can finish the first normal (New Game) playthrough in ~40 to 60 hours. Afterwards the difficulty increases double the times of normal and slight increase in difficulty for further playthorugh. This is capped upto NG+7 (New Game +7). Afterwhich the difficulty remains same for further play.

All enemeis are strong in this game. One mistake you die especially when you are fighting the bosses in each levels. The main difficult part is when you die you loose all of your soul and humanity points. You have to fight back with all of your enemies on the way to get back where you died and retrieve the loosed points.

A person who has patience and willing to die frequently can go for this game.

Normal gamers please stay away from this game.
