The second novel from the author of Focus,Sam ! It is a rare and remarkable achievement--spellbinding, thought-provoking, and beautifully written.
Get it, read it, you will love it.
A Darker Dawn is a drama thriller novel in which four childhood friends who drifted apart as they grew up, come back to their hometown at the behest of some unknown person who knows a secret from their past and links them all and if revealed could create quite a stir amongst the people. So the four friends reluctantly return to their home town with the hopes of settling the matter once and for all. Here they're forced to confront aspects of their childhood friendship that had been avoided and left unresolved until now and reforge that old friendship to confront the skeletons in the closet of their past. Coupled with a smooth fluid narrative that moderates the tension of the novel at the right moment to hit the correct notes for a thriller novel, this book is well worth the money it demands.
What a waste of an incredible plot!! The story has almost everything a thriller should have, but the there are WAYYY too many characters in it. Ekdam khichdi ban gaya end mein....It almost reminded me of Priyadarshan's movies..and it was not a comedy...it was a thriller...SUCH A WASTE!! The story is such a mess
One good thing (coz of which the book deserves 3/5) is the gripping narration in the end. It's pretty gripping, but what's the point of it all in the end when you end it on such a messy note..
I am a fan of Khaled Hossaini and Carlos Ruiz Zaffon. These two can create some heartbreaking moments in fiction novels. Liked the movie and the novels 'Kite Runner'.
A DARKER DAWN reminded me a lot of A Kite Runner. It is written very extremely well. Like Khaled Hossaini, Rohit Gore can show great bonds of friendship and story
Had seen the reviews for the novel on a few dailies, blogs and purchased the same. This is not a novel but rather a screen play for a flop movie.
Some sequences are overly done, and a few seem alien. Author has no clue as to what he need to write right from the beginning and keep's jumping around clueless just to add a few pages more.
