Synopsis and Features

It’s been 3 years since Isaac Clarke fought the evil Necromorphs on the spaceship USG-Ishimura. Isaac Clarke was rescued and is now healing on a spaceship named the Sprawl, but he has no memory of getting there. Fighting for survival from the first step in the game, Isaac must now find out how the Necromorphs have got onto the Sprawl and fight them again to find out the truth about the Marker - the thing that sets the Necromorphs alive.

Developed by Visceral Games and published by Electronic Arts, Dead Space promises a grand horror adventure. The minimum specifications required for the game to run on your computer are Windows 7, Vista or Windows XP with SP2, 2.8 GHz Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon64 3000+ processor, 10 GB disk space, 1 GB RAM and 256 MB RAM equipped graphics card.

The game’s single player campaign takes you through the Sprawl where you have to find a way out of the ship. You have objectives to accomplish and progress through the story with successful completion of those objectives. Dead Space 2 also has some game-based puzzles like overriding of consoles and hacking, contributing for interesting gameplay.

The best thing about Dead Space is how much you get involved in the game while trying to finish the objectives. Isaac is not just battling demons on the outside, but also on the inside. The death of his girlfriend in the first game has driven Isaac to a point of insanity where he can’t believe what is the truth and what is a lie.

You get flashes from the past, haunting you for the decisions you made. The game has some really spooky moments where Necromorphs jump out of thin air. There are a new class of Necromorphs called the pack- a bunch of Necromorph children who hunt in groups. If you fail to kill them within the first few seconds, you can be sure you will be torn to pieces in no time.

Throughout the game you can collect credits and nodes to upgrade your suit and weapons. This allows you to fight against the Necromorphs better. You can buy new and more powerful weapons like the Detonator and Javelin gun to fight against the enemies. The sound has been the highlight of Dead Space universe and the same continues with Dead Space 2. With every turn and every step Dead Space 2 brings creepy sounds, shrieks and screams that will push you back into your seat without you even noticing it.

The Kinesis and Stasis technology have been tweaked. Kinesis is now more powerful and allows wielding of small objects, allowing you to throw them at your enemies. New additions include the Power Booster that allows you to use boosters in your suit to fly around in Zero gravity. This provides for a fun and exhilarating experience as it allows full 360° movement.

Online features

Dead Space 2 is better than its predecessor as it brings team-based competitive multiplayer into play. There are 2 teams where 4 people can participate in each team split into Humans and Necromorphs. The goal is simple. Necromorphs have to stop Humans at any cost, while Humans have to do that same but have additional objectives such as interacting with consoles, carrying items, destroying objects and more.

The DLC’s for the game include the Hazard pack, the Supernova pack and the Martial Law pack. Each pack includes multiple new suits and weapons that can be used within the game. You can download the game updates and patches directly through the company website.
