Product Delivery
----------------
Flipkart took some time with this one, but I'll forgive them since it was festival season (Dusshera, 2011) and it's understandable that the supply chain might have gotten clogged up.
CD
--
The CD packing was awful, seriously. The CD was so hard fit into the cover that I thought I'm going to break it while removing it. I'm all for proper CD packing, but this was taking it too far. After a significant effort, the CD did come out fine. Phew...
Songs
-----
The songs are unconventional, as you already know. Ram Sampath and his team go totally wacky with this one, and I loved it; all of it. That said, it may or may not work for you. Here's a song-by-song breakup:
D. K. Bose
==========
Full on masti! I loved it the first time I heard it and it's still entertaining me after these days.
Nakkadwaale Disco
=================
Again an awesome play of words, not as explicit as D. K. Bose, but very subtle.
Saigal Blues
============
Masterpiece - my favourite song of the list. No offense against Saigal saab, but I don't think the song meant any ill will against the great singer of yester years.
Bedardi Raja
============
Catchy tune, very folksy sounding. Likeable.
Jaa Chudail
===========
Superb song! Suraj Jagan rocks... literally :) Don't just listen, live the lyrics - to all the people who've made your life miserable at different times... Jaa Chudailllllll
Tere Siva
=========
The soundtrack's only romantic song. Easy going song. Slightly alters the flow of the soundtrack. But acceptable for what it's worth.
Switty
======
The soundtrack is back on track, and how! Switty rocks my core; I absolutely love the tune.
I hate you (...)
================
If you've seen the video, you'll understand the retro feel of the song. Nice fast paced song.
Overall
-------
Once in a while, a soundtrack leaves me totally satiated (Dev D, Rang De Basanti, Swades et al). Experts will know about how this soundtrack compares against "real music". But frankly, I only care about music that interests me (yes, Ludovico Einaudi also interests me). I absolutely love this witty package of music. The awesome lyrics and tunes leave me asking for more from Ram Sampath and co.
