Dell XPS 2nd Gen Ci7/ 8GB/ 750GB/ W7P/2 GB Dedicated Graphics (Anodized Aluminium)

I had bought this directly from a dell dealer recently and have been using it for the past 1 month and am simply loving it.

All the features are really good and i use it mainly for gaming and multimedia usage.Should confirm with flipkart if the keyboard is backlit or not, since its a must.

The sound is amazing.Sufficient amount of graphics power and memory.Plenty of RAM and hard disk memory.Should handle all tasks with ease.

There are a few drawbacks though,like the weight,battery consumption and the noise due to the heavy config.

But all in all a very worthy deal.Would reccomend it to anyone looking for a high end computer.

I didn't purchased this lap from flipkart, yet I want to share this review..

If you want a replacement for a Desktop for real multimedia experience, and just above middle level gaming [not hardcore, but yes, hard gaming..] then it's the right choice..!

Pros :
1. Obviously.. SOUND.. what the amazing sound it is.. No laptop beats it..!
2. Future ready features - USB 3.0, WiDi, 2nd Gen Processor, 3D vision ready...!
3. Backlit keyboard...

Cons :
Little heavy..
and battery drops in 3 hours.. for movie playing.. :-(

Hello all I bought this laptop from dell showroom I have been using this Laptop from almost 6months, It superb in it performance..Its the best XPS laptop you can get it from dell at that price..with good graphics and Core i7 its a power house..

I am recommending for those who are really on to Gaming, Video editing..Much more than daily usage...I am sure this will not disappoint you..

The only cons..with this laptop is battery backup & Heat, its common with most Ci7 & graphics laptops..Its best to get a 9cell and a good cooling pad i have one from Cooler master Note Pal U3 from flipkart..its superb..Cooling solution.

Good Amount of RAM which is more than useful for a casual user
Decent 2gb Graphics which is good from gaming..Designing stuff..HDD also good 750gs.

This is a good product from Flipkart...

Pros
1) Elegant design in brushed anodized aluminum which looks distinctive from many other plasticky laptops
2) Hardware is most uptodate with the option to select some of the most powerful processors and GPU options available
3) Value for performance. XPS is not a VFM brand but is known for performance. Here I would rate Dell XPS as the best bang for bucks when compared to high end offerings from Sony, HP and Lenovo (look for some great deals that popup time and again in their website!)
4)Very sturdy build and durable
5) Brilliant JBL Waves Audio which is too good to be a laptop speaker, providing fantastic audio playability
6) Excellent graphics performance and ability to play games in high resolution
System has excellent windows experience index of 5.9 with sub scores as 7.0 processor, 6.6 graphics, 6.6 gaming graphics, 5.9 in RAM and HDD performance. I think an 8 GB RAM and 10k rmp HDD will solve the low scores issue.
Cons
1) Sorry battery life - which is expected of a rig with 4 gigs of RAM and 2 gis of VRAM

I have been using XPS (not this model) since last 1.5 years.
My configuration:
4 GB RAM, 1 GB nVidia graphics, 500 GB HDD, 15.6

Now, the reason why I put the title above is the nVidia component in the XPS machines. I guarantee you, the nVidia video card will crash in 1 to 1.5 years, and you will be told to replace the complete motherboard (since the video card is an integrated one) for almost 8k rupees. If you go for the warranty, atleast you can save some 5k rupees I guess.

Coming to the gaming part: I REALLY LOVED IT..!!! Played many high graphics games with great performance. Kudos to that!

But beware, this product is not a log lasting one. The actual culprit is the faulty nVidia cards which Dell provides in these products. But don't think that your laptop will be a long lasting one, once you replace the motherboard!!!
The dell guys will give you a new motherboard with the another faulty nVidia video card, and you can use it for another 1.5 years!!!

Guys, This is my situation, and if you have any doubts, you can just google regarding this issue. You will find tons of frustrated users like me, having the same problem.

Reliability - Very Very Poor - Since you are forced to use a 60k product for a maximum of 2 years.
