It’s been 20 years since the Prime Evils were defeated; but now, a new Evil is about to rise. Every path leads back to the place where it all began- Tristram. Seeking to destroy the rumoured evil, you have to rise as a new generation hero who saves Tristram. In Diablo III, you are not just playing to win; you are playing to restore faith in everyone who has lost their belief in good.
The third instalment in the Diablo franchise is for hard-core gamers who like to immerse themselves in innovative and addictive gameplay. The action role-playing game DVD is available for the PC platform and has a Mature rating from ESRB.
Synopsis and Features
Sanctuary is at peace, but not for long. Evil has descended on Earth in a form of a falling star and is ready to wreak havoc on the land of Tristram. The heroes who saved the world are long gone. Now it’s your turn to stand up to your responsibility and try to save Tristram and Sanctuary.
Published and developed by Blizzard Entertainment, Diablo III packs in many new and interesting features that were unheard in the earlier instalments. The minimum system requirements for the game to run smoothly on your computer are Windows 7 or Vista, Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon 64 X2 processor, 2 GB RAM, 12 GB of free space and NVIDIA GeForce 260 or ATI Radeon HD 4870 graphics card.
As any role playing game, you have to level up in Diablo III. You progress through the story by completing quests. The new additions in Diablo III are the character specific quests and random adventures. This allows you to indulge in many memorable journeys, thus giving you longer game time. Many small and big improvements have been introduced in the game, including the health orbs that now fall from slayed enemies.
Diablo III has 5 main classes. These include Witch Doctor: He can summon undead monsters, The Barbarian: a brute-force fighter, The Wizard: he is a master at combining stealth and magic, The Monk: a specialist in melee based attacks and The Demon Hunter: he can combine different attacks. The game also includes followers. The followers are special as they can wield a weapon, two rings and a special item exclusive only to them. The 3 followers are Kormac the Templar, Eirena the Enchantress and Lyndon the Scoundrel.
Diablo III also allows the players to create hard core characters. You will be able to create one after your charecter advances to level 10. As they are a special addition, you cannot resurrect them if they are dead.
One of the eagerly awaited and most talked about addition in the game includes the Auction House. The Auction House allows you to buy items by paying real money. This assists you to advance faster through the game. You can also use in-game gold to level-up your character.
You can play games with other players from around the world using the Battle.net service. This multiplayer option allows you to drop in and out of sessions easily. From the spires of Caldeum to the fallen walls of Bastion’s Keep, you will fight evil at every step. Each new game promises to be more epic than the last. The trailers, updates and demos for the game can be directly downloaded from the company’s website.
|Title||Diablo III (Standard Edition)|
|Note||The game requires constant Internet connection i.e. you should be online at all times to play|
Diablo III is massive...no question about it. The hype surrounding this game was just as huge as the company that created it; and the hype was understandable. Diablo II and it's expansion packs are much loved games that are played to this day. Blizzard had to create a worthy successor to their hallowed franchise.
So why have they messed up so badly? Diablo III feels like the worst sort of pay to win title one might expect out of a company such as Zynga. Everything about it screams "cash cow". You know something is missing when you have to pay 10,000 gold to upgrade your bloody stash. Listed below are a few points that attempt to list the shortfalls of this clusterf@#k.
*) Always on DRM - We all know how well this policy worked out for UbiSoft. Why does Blizzard treat it's paying customers like thieves? I get that multi player bit but LAG in single player?
*) Pricing - 4000 bucks for a standard edition? One of the advantages of PC games were lower price points but that seems to have gone for a toss with this title.
*) The dumbing down - Diablo III is simplified to the point of retardation. There are no skill points to distribute, no skill trees, no weapon swaps, no identify and portal scrolls.
*) The loot sucks - It does. The motivation to hunt for loot is gone as the drops suck royally on the lower levels.
*) No Mod support - This is what killed the deal for me. Have you played Diablo II LOD? Now have you played it with Median XL installed? If you did, you'd know what I'm on about.
A few good points are the combat does look and sound good, the environments are lush and atmospheric and the new classes are interesting.
However, I will be saving my money and purchasing torchlight II. A game created by the very team that created Diablo II. Diablo III is unworthy of wearing the diablo badge. If it was just another game, I would not have bothered. However, in order to please their stockholders and clueless, drooling newbies, they have forsaken their truest followers by bastardizing a venerable franchise.
Diablo II was a splendid game and addictive as hell.
Diablo III kicks the awesomeness of Diablo II up three notches. It is up there, right with the best games of our times.
And if you are a fan of loot, dark atmospheres, fantastic monsters (Siegebreaker Assault Beast, take a bow ) and insane combat, then DIII is the thing.
There are so many minor ways in which DIII improves over its predecessor but the one thing that stands out besides the graphics and beautiful art is DIII's ability to make you feel POWERFUL. You will feel it when you start playing.
An online connection is the only thing which they could have done without but personally I haven't had any reason to hate because my connection is stable most of the times.
Flipkart did a fantastic job as usual of delivering my favorite game as soon as it was released so full marks to them.
Go for the game, no matter what kinds you like. It is addictive as hell.
First off, Flipkart service rocks as usual. Got the game in less than 48 hours.. Excellent service..
Now, on to the game..
I was initially skeptical about buying Diablo 3 upon release, mainly due to the always-on internet connection requirement, even for Single Player. Add to that, the fact that the game drew a lot of flak for opening day connection issues, gameplay mechanics and the dreaded error 37, and my buying decision was made for me.. I just restarted the Assassin's Creed series and pushed Diablo 3 to the back of my mind..
A few months went by and the free starter edition was made publicly available, without the need for a Guest Pass..
I thought, what the heck, and downloaded and installed the starter edition. An 8GB download later (about 2 days on my 512 Kbps connection), I was finally ready to play Diablo 3..
AMAZING!! The game literally blew me away.. Killing monsters has NEVER been so much fun.. I immediately bought the game and upgraded my starter edition and continued playing - No extra downloads, no waiting..
I am currently playing a level 47 Monk on Act 3 on Nightmare difficulty (1.0.4 patch).. I connect to the Asia server and have not faced any latency issues in my 40+ hours of gameplay time..
- Graphics look new and shiny
- Environments are lush and detailed
- Physics has FINALLY been implemented and works well
- Music is beatiful, deep and dark
- Monster deaths are more satisfying (lots of blood, gore and you can blow stuff up)
- The new skill system is fun to experiment with
- The follower system is a good addition and makes solo runs a little less lonely
Special Note: The auction house (I have only tried the Gold auction house, not the real money AH) is better than I expected and adds to overall gameplay enjoyment..
- The story is extremely linear and you know what's going to happen next
- Environments, while beatiful, are limited in roaming and feel small
- Finding loot is not as exciting, but the loot looks a lot cooler when equipped
Verdict: If you can get past the fact that the game does require an always-on internet connection, it's extremely enjoyable and is a must-play for Diablo 2 and Titan Quest fans
flipkart delivered this on 23 may 2012 when it released worldwide on may 15, not too bad i guess but the wait has been worth it! the most expensive pc game ever to be available in India and the retail box is very nice, not ur typical packing and includes guest passes,a diablo 3 themed notepad and a user guide!! though expensive its worth it, some thing i will be playing for a very long time to come- WARNING dont buy this if u just want the story- wrong choice- also dont buy this if u dont have good stable internet cause its AN "always online" game!!
It was only a matter of time before I bought Diablo 3 and the 25% discount offer provided the perfect opportunity to do so. I am a big fan of Blizzard when it comes to role playing games - played all the diablo games and play retail World of Warcraft (EU) as well. The reason for buying it late was partially due to the fact I was waiting for the price to come down and partially due to the mixed reviews of the game all over the internet. Nevertheless I ordered it for myself this christmas.
Flipkart delivered the sealed DVD box within three days with excellent packaging removing any possibility of direct damage.
The installation strangely took an unusual amount of long time. However after it was done it has been one awesome experience playing my Barabarian character. It is all what Diablo is and so much more. Killing multitudes of demons with left and right clicks is satisfying as ever. Then there are runes, crafting, unique classes and their abilities which keep you ever involved.
Excellent gameplay, fully satisfying, unique and powerful ablities modified by runes makes you crave for insane amount of carnage, auction house, crafting, cinematics.
No Real Money AH for people playing from India, always on internet connection, no pvp, highly addictive - being the single most time consumer of free time.
Worth every single penny spent...only if you are a diehard diablo fan...if you are new to diablo series please reconsider befor...Read More
U all know about the cons which are quite annoying:1.all time broadband connection(DRM)
Flipkart delivered this product in 5 days. I was happy with the delivery time as it's a rare game to find in India.
