Book: The Divine Invasion
Exiled for 2,000 years God must retake the Earth from the clutches of his nemesis using a man caught between life and death as His vessel. God is in exile. The only man who can help is clinically dead. Herb Asher, an audio engineer by trade, is in suspended animation following a car accident that appears to have taken his life. As he floats in cryonic suspension he awaits his new spleen and dreams back through the last six years of his life which reveal much of his bizarre journey and the battle with Belial, the force of evil that will stop at nothing to achieve its goal. 'A great philosophical writer.' Independent 'Really excellent entertainment.' Daily Telegraph 'One of the most original practitioners writing any kind of fiction'. Sunday Times
Book Reviews of The Divine Invasion
*wonderful novel
Review by p. lovelace
One of my favorite Dick's novels, The Divine Invasion is humane and funny and terrifying, and although this is nothing new when Dick is concerned, The Divine Invasion is Dick's mature work that describes the savior's return to earth. He, of course, arrives via spaceship, but in a scenario that is far from the standard sf device. In fact, one could say that this was a new phase for Dick, one where he united strong religious interest that he had with science fiction and his other more general ideas. I would say that this is not a typical fast read, but rather a novel that does stay with you for a while.

It's Remberance Day, but we don't need a moment of silence; we need to start talking about the death cult being perpetrated and perpetuated, and the lives never lived by the children sent to these wars, the marriages never made, the children never had.
