About the Authors

Cay S. Horstmann is a German computer scientist and academician. He currently teaches a course in computer science at San Jose State University.

A graduate of the Christian-Albrechts-Universität in Kiel, Dr. Horstmann completed his M.S. in computer science from Syracuse University and went on to obtain his Ph.D. in mathematics from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He has also written: Java 8 for the Really Impatient, Scala for the Impatient, Python for Everyone, OO Design & Patterns and Practical Object-Oriented Development with C++ and Java.

Gary Cornell is an American computer scientist, a professor and a program director at the National Science Foundation.

Dr. Cornell completed his Ph.D. in mathematics from Brown University and has served as a visiting scientist at IBM's Watson Labs. He has also written: Visual Basic 6 from the Ground Up and Learn Microsoft Visual Basic Scripting Edition Now.
