Trueman's UGC NET National Eligibility Test/SET State Eligibility Test Education covers the full syllabus for the subject of Education in the NET/SET exams.
Summary Of The Book
The University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts the countrywide National Eligibility Test (NET) to select candidates for Junior Fellowship and for lecturer posts at various universities. There are also many equivalent State Level Eligibility Tests called SLET or SET tests. These follow a similar pattern and syllabus as the NET exams. The NET/SET exams consist of three papers. The first is a general aptitude test paper of objective type questions. The other two papers are subject specific, testing the candidate’s knowledge in the subject they choose. Trueman's UGC NET National Eligibility Test/SET State Eligibility Test Education covers the syllabus for papers two and three for the subject of Education.
The UGC offers many specialization subjects for the candidate to choose from. These include Political Science, Philosophy, History, Psychology, Anthropology, Social Work, Music, Education, Management, the various Indian languages, and Indian Culture. The NET/SET exams are for a total of 350 marks, spread over three papers. The general aptitude/teaching attitude paper is the first one. This is an objective paper with 60 questions, of which the candidate has to complete 50. The next two papers focus on the subject of specialization, in this case, Education. Paper II contains 50 objective style questions all of which have to be answered. This paper is for a total of 100 marks, like the first paper. Paper III of the NET/SET exam is also an objective style paper. This consists of 75 questions, 2 marks each, and all the questions are mandatory. This paper is for a total of 150 marks.
Trueman's UGC NET National Eligibility Test/SET State Eligibility Test Education covers the whole syllabus for the NET/SET second and third papers of the exam for the subject of Education. The book starts by providing the syllabus for the subject and also gives some guidelines for the exam. It then goes into the four main topics for the subject, in four separate chapters. The first chapter of the book covers The Philosophical Foundation of Education. This is followed by other aspects like The Psychological Foundation of Education, The Sociological Foundation of Education and The Methodology of Educational Research.
The book covers the core syllabus and provides concise study material. It also has model papers for the exam, some additional coverage specific to Paper III, and objective questions based on the new exam pattern. Besides these, the book also provides previous years question papers.
