A marvellous book, a way of life!!

At the outset, let me thank all those who have posted their reviews, coz it was after reading these that i purchased the book.

The book seems like a godsend to me, i weighed 85 kg but have reduced to 81 in 2 weeks!

I live alone, work all day and cook for myself. needless to say i am bored in the evenings and the first thing i used to do as soon as i got back from work was reach out for my bag of ready to eat packaged snacks, after which i always felt guilty, then consoled myself by resolving to go on a diet the next day and in the end ordered a big restaurant dinner. Need i say more??

For ten years i had not eaten my favourite breakfast of toast and eggs, i never bought butter, ghee or sweets, yet my weight kept going up.

After reading the book, it is almost as if i have been reborn. i am enjoying my favourite foods, am at peace and am losing weight.

This book is a MUST READ!!

Ive already bought another copy to gift to an overweight friend.

A lot of generalized knowledge on nutrition

In this book she attempts to demystify nutrition and explain its intricacies of nutrition and diet to us. However, for every fact she reveals there are 10 questions that crop up. For example, she (and other nutritionists) claims that if you eat less you will put on weight. Sounds okay from a body-logic point of view. But how many obese STARVING people have you seen?

Also she does not answer questions that logically crop up from her revelations. For example, what happens if we eat say 200 calories less than our daily requirement and exercise at the same time. Would the body burn fat to power us? She advises us to eat every two hours. Eat what? There are vague hints at eating nuts and stuff common Rujuta, we've paid for the book means we want the knowledge not riddles.

There are also lots of pages that appear directionless and at times she sounds a bit lost. We are dazzled by the names of her high profile clients that she routinely throws up. People who buy this book buy it to further their knowledge not to know her experience as a nutritionist while working with high profile clients. In places where she does share a menu or two that she advised her clients. But the menu is so bizarre that you would probably need to have your own 5-star cook to fulfill it. Also she says eat within 15 minutes of waking up in the morning. Yea right! I have a slave waiting for me to wake up who will instantly serve me breakfast!

Those of you who have read this book; ask yourself a question – has this book really made a big difference to you? So perhaps, this book is more of any attempt to dazzle the high and mighty (who is not yet her client) into becoming her client? For the ‘Aam Janata’, there is a lot of generalized knowledge. Except you are spared the time spent in researching the internet. Jai Ho!

Best book on Eating

Arguably the best book out there on the most basic but neglected aspect of our life: 'Feeding ourselves'. Rujuta has not only shattered all the diet myths through her book but has done it in such a logical way that leaves no trace of doubt in one's mind. Her language is simple and her knowledge exceptional. Her philosophy of 'eat food to lose fat' sounds radical first but by the end of the book it feels like the most natural thing.
As someone who has been grapling with weight loss issues for a long time and having consulted the so called 'expert dieticians' with no results, except losing my confidence, I would heartily recommend this book and its philosophy to everyone: age, sex, fitness levels, no bar.
Through real life examples, cheat sheets, interesting anecdotes etc Rujuta has managed to make the book highly entertaining. Sounds too good to be true? Just grab a copy and read for yourself. Its a must read- if ever there was one.

dont lose ur mind

after a long long search i really could find some book which could satisfy my quench for loosing weight, an excellent book, the wonderful part is the author allows us to have our normal diet which we r used to since ages. quitting my first coffee was and is still a bit difficult for me, but somehow i m getting over this habit too, following all the instructions is not yet totally possible, but i think a step every time is a good effort, whatdya say? apart from everything, the author being a puneite, i found her much more closer to my heart. she has explained wonderfully the role of each of the food type making it easy for a layman to understand food and its significant role in our life, i myself have made a few notes about the book, the diet to be followed, the food items to be included as well as excluded and whats more a have started walking on the path of good health with her tips, i have also zeroxed my notes and started circulating them amongst my healthy (over) friends, thnx for the good book , dear author keep it up, good wishes for more good books and good luc to me for losing my weight.

Truly a Diet Bible.Alters your perception of dieting not the food.

This book is all about altering your thinking about Dieting, and it works.
This is not a ordinary diet book where they throw on you a diet chart ,asks you to follow and loose weight. That never works,because our culture is so diverse,what people eat daily changes every 100 kms,so a Mumbaikar making a diet chart will not work for guy living in Meerut,U.P. He might be able to survive for a week or two but thats it then his genes will take over and he'll end up eating ghar ka bana mummy ke haath ka khana(in our families the amount of love is shown by the amount of ghee/chaunk/oil in our food).
So what Rujuta does is,tell us,how does your digestion work,a few tips (a lot actually) and her 4 principles of eating,gives us a few ideas what should we prefer to eat (I hope there were some more) and even lets us eat Samosas,Gulab Jamun,Parathas,Pizza etc(No this is not a typo,this is actually a part of your diet),
the only thing what changes is WHEN you eat. She just alters our When,and asks us to eat everything including Cheese.

For 119 bucks I would definitely recommend this. Now that you have tried (and failed) all the dietings known to mankind,just spend another 100 bucks and give this a shot.

My final Verdict- Game Changer.
