DA 2

Improved graphics. No shader details, no friendly fire and endless boring battles. Reuse of maps but overall the story is good but badly represented. What to say? Worst sequel of the best tactical role playing game?

Great combat system but fails as a sequel to the original game.

The battles very satisfying, and a major improvement from the last title. But that's the only improvement. Quests are repeated in a few selected maps, and most of side-quests seem the same. The world doesn't feel as huge as in the last game. The main storyline isn't as epic either. You could select your characters to specialise in skills such as potion-making and poison-making and use ingredients to make them in the last game, but there's no such thing in this one. Instead, they just put up different tables in your base and you have to either find or buy recipes for potions, traps etc and then pay to make them. Those who haven't played 'Dragon Age 1' will find this game pretty good. But it is a major disappointment for those who have. Overall, the satisfying combat system is the only thing that makes this game worth the money.

DA2 is a great game but different from the original

It is hard not to underrate DA2. It is so different from DAO that it often gets abnormally low ratings. It is in fact quite unfair to compare the two. DA2 takes a turn for more action at the expense of environmental diversity. The fast pace in action is welcome, but the reused levels soon gain tedium. Also, for a game that takes place over so large a time interval, the city hardly changes over time and is unforgivingly static. DA2 also offers fewer customization options, a bold decision that may backfire. It is not to be mistaken that DA2 is a great game in itself and the characters are as vivacious and uniquely flavored as in no other game. The narration is also a bold departure from the traditional DAO. However, the game lacks a lasting appeal as its prequel. But, the future of the franchisee is something to look forward to for sure.

Didn't even finished it!

I played Dragonage: Origins and ended up finishing the game more than 10 times with different character and path each time. When Dragonage 2 came out, I was excited and thought the sequel will be better. Well my point of view may not be the same as other or you as different people different taste. But I didn't even finish Dragonage 2. Don't know whether I will ever finish, since now I am hooked on an another game. As someone earlier said, if you haven't played the first instalment i.e. Dragonage: Origins then Dragonage 2 will be interesting. If you have played Origins, you may be disappointed.

You are going to be disappointed if you played Origins

The prequel of this game Dragon Age Origins has set the standards really high so it was hard for this game to achieve. I don't understand why developers try to fix something which isn't broken. They changed the leveling up of characters and gameplay was a mess still i finished this game but was really angry at developers. Was it that hard for them to make a sequel.
My Advise dont buy this game as you are not going to miss anything or if you are expecting something like DAO. Just wait for DA 3 to come out.
