Hand-to-hand combat games have their own place among fighting game fans. The powerful punches and kicks that you can dole out to punish your enemies is not just fun to play, but beautiful to see too. Taking this concept to an entire new level is Dragon Ball Z - Budokai Tenkaichi 3. With the grand saga of Dragon Ball series to back it up, Budokai Tenkaichi 3 tells a compelling story about how one must fight to rise to the top.
The 3rd game in the Budokai Tenkaichi series is also a sequel to Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2. The game is targeted towards hard-core and casual gamers who are fans of the Dragon Ball series. The action fighting video game has new characters and many improvements that make it more entertaining than its predecessor. Dragon Ball Z - Budokai Tenkaichi 3 game DVD is available for the PS2 gaming console and carries a Teen rating from ESRB.
Synopsis and Features
Budokai Tenkaichi 3 explores the Dragon Ball game’s universe unlike any other in the series. Following the events that transpired in the previous game, you will be tracing back your steps that will lead you to the ultimate fighter. Here you have to think of new combat moves to defeat the enemy and emerge victorious. With new fighters featured in the game, Budokai Tenkaichi 3 offers immense replay ability as you can play the same fights with different fighters.
Developed by Spike and published by Namco Bandai Games, Dragon Ball Z - Budokai Tenkaichi 3 has many addictive elements featured in the game. The single-player mode in the game allows you to use various attack moves. These include Sonic Sway, Z Counter and many others. This adds more depth to the gameplay as you can execute these moves when needed and silence your enemies. As you advance through the game you can unlock various character bonuses and items. You can also improve your statistics by playing turn-based mini-games.
You can select any character you want in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 as it features more than 160 characters. With day and night cycles added, fights look much more realistic. If you have a great fight with your opponent and feel like you want to save the fight you can do it in this game as it has a feature called Battle Replay. Using this you can easily save fights on an SD card.
You can challenge your friends or family members and see who the best fighter is as Budokai Tenkaichi 3 supports multiplayer. Choosing your favourite character you can execute a variety of moves to stun you opponents and gain victory. You can set up normal or custom fights and challenge players to prove how well you play the game.
Budokai Tenkaichi 3 features a Disc Fusion system that allows you to use the previous games, Tenkaichi 1 or Tenkaichi 2. This allows you to unlock the Ultimate Battle or Ultimate Battle Z. The game features an online ranking system that allows you to see where you stand among the best fighters in the world.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is far from being a perfect game. When looking at the core gameplay, and ignoring the titles before it, BT3 is a fast, fun, and amazingly deep experience for fans of the award-winning anime. There are more characters here than in any other fighter out there (161 total), with a huge story, impressive library of information and extras for each of the fighters in the game, and as much fan service as there is actual gameplay throughout. The main story mode is thinner, the modes gained from PS2 disc fusion could have simply been included without the need for previous purchases, and there's no online play. The core fighting experience is better, and with nearly 200 fighters there’s a ton to see and do in BT3.I rcommend this to any loyal DBZ fan.

The story/adventure mode is awesome, including the 'what if saga'. There are over 150 characters and like half of them have transformations too, there are more different kinds of moves you can perform as compared to the previous game in the series. You can collect the dragon balls for wishes from shenron, red shenron or porunga, you can play in different types of tournaments, you can enter codes for red potora characters(almost impossible to beat with normal characters if you're not way too experienced), and there's also the mission 100 which has 100 different battles. The blasts and ultimate blasts are MUCH more detailed as compared to BT2.
cons - When you're fighting or performing combos, there aren't many frames per second, while the fighting was MUCH better in Budokai Tenkaichi 2 in this case. Also, the story/adventure mode is not very long, it took me way longer to complete in DBZ - BT2.
But despite these few cons, this is one of the best games I've played yet.
i played this game for around a week and its awesome.... the gameplay is really good.... full use of the surroundings is good too.... literally better than raging blast or raging blast 2 on xbox or ps3..
