This book An Economic History of North East India from 1826 to 1947 is a product of extensive research work undertaken by Professor Jalad Baran Ganguly, a well-known economist, whose first-hand knowledge of the region is unassailable. About Author :
Professor Jalad Baran Ganguly, who obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Calcutta University worked in several institutions of higher education in Tripura and also in Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat, NEFA (now Arunachal Pradesh). He retired as Vice Chancellor of Tripura University in 1993. During his service career he was actively involved in research studies on different themes concerning North East India.
