Book is good But...
The Book was good, written in simple language and covered required statistics. However, the concepts in books beyond ( first 10 pages ) are difficult to understand for students.
Book Recommended for those who poses high level knowledge of economics and has his/her concepts clear.

Good for anyone who is preparing for competitive Exams
I am preparing for my UPSC exams. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to have a basic understanding about the macro economic conditions of our country. It will be of very much use with repect to competitive exams. Though there will be a lot of numbers, one need not worry too much about it.
And it is better if you possess basic (school level) knowledge in Economics.

Economic Survey is a very helpful book, for civil services aspirants and other competitive examination students. It not only covers the latest data and figures of various government activities, and economy, but also gives a fair idea about the concepts and their definations in the Indian context. I, personally, feel it was very helpful in covering the economy portion for the competitive examinations.

Good buy for economics students
It is a very good buy for all economics students as it covers each and every aspect of macroeconomic variables in India. Although, it may require technical know-how of the subject at some places but the data provided is in very lucid manner. The graphics of the book keep you drawn throughout. However, it may not be of much use to those not familiar with basic economic concepts.

This is perhaps the best available single manual for understanding the current state of Indian Economy on a whole basis. Provides not only the current data and trends, also the policies of govt and a holistic view of the direction the country's economy is heading to.
