Elements Of Civil Engineering

This book is meant for first and second semester of B.E., (Common to all branches, except architecture department) of VTU Belgaum, Karnataka state. This book contains eight sections, including introduction to civil to mechanics, statics and properties of sections (centroid, moment of inertia) and friction. It also deals with equilibrium conditions. With different conditions of support reactions, calculations for different kinds of loads conditions. Each topic in this book covers fundamentals with a comprehensive theory together with a number of worked examples. It also includes a set of graded exercise problems to check whether the reader has understood the basic contents of the concept or not.

About Author :
H.C.M. Swamy was born on March 15, 1969 in Bhadravathi, Karnataka state. He graduated in civil engineering from government B.D.T. college of engineering, Davangere in 1990. He did his postgraduation from B.V.B. College of Engineering and Technology, Belgaum in 1997. He was also awarded the junior national fellowship (Under 35 years of age) from UGC, 2003-2007 for the study on the behavior of high performance concrete on the pavement overlays. He got prizes in teaching and obtained 100% result in class room teaching. He is working in reputed engineering colleges from 1990. In addition to this, he is working as a consultant to reputed engineering construction and design firms.UEC-9278
