After graduating from MIT and working in the health care field, Carol Batrus changed directions and got her MBA at Columbia and went to work for a prestigious New York investment bank. Still unsatisfied, she eventually gave it all up, cut the tether to her safe existence, and journey to a primitive Zulu village. In this remote and timeless place, she taught valuable skills to tribal members to train them how better to adapt to their rapidly changing economic and cultural environment. In turn, she discovered hope, humor, and compassion, one act at a time.
