The advent of globalisation and economic development process have intensified the on going intellectual discussion on the gender development interface. Integration of gender issues with economic reforms process is essential for women empoloyment in the developing countries like India. Women in the development proces particularly in the labour market is playing a dominant role in India. Empowerment of women is the slogan of the day.
