Floriculture is the fast emerging industry in India. National Horticulture Board of India is providing financial assistance for flower cultivation, marketing and training of farmers interested in floriculture. Presently, the production and trade of floriculture both for domestic and industrial purpose is in the hands of small business houses whee unskilled women are the main workers. Agriculture policy in India is still dominated by the false view that farmers are men and wmen are only housewives.

Dr Minakshi, a P.G teache in senior secondary school, New Delhi, earned her B.Sc, M.Sc & PhD degrees in Home Science Extension Education from CCS Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar. Dr Sudarshan Mehta is an Associate Professor, Home Science Extension Education, College of Home Science, CCS HAU, Hisar. She has obtained her Master`s degree from Panjab University, Chandigarh and was awarded B.Sc and PhD degree from CCS Haryana Agriculture University, Hisar. She has to her credit number of research papers, articles, manuals, chapter in books and a book and has guided 10 postgraduate students.
