Botany pertains to the study of plants, which have always been of great importance since the formation of the planet `Earth`. Plants play a crucial part in the life of living creatures as well as in balancing the environment. Apart from numerous benefits, obtained from plants, they have been a source of medication since immemorial times. About Author :
Prof Harmmet Kaur obtained her B.Sc degree in 1986 and M.Sc in 1988 from the University of Jammu, Jammu, with first division. She has a brilliant academic record. A seasoned teacher, having over 16 years professional standing currently she is working in the Department of Botany, Govt P.G College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Recently she had attended General Orientation Course at Academic Staff College, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amtrisar.
