In these volume the editor critically examines some of the famous works on Literature and its editors. Criticism is praise, but it is praise of literarure. There is all the difference in the world between praise of what pretends to be literature. True criticism is a search for beauty and truth and the announcement of them. It does not care two pence whether the method of their revelation is old or new, academic or futuristic. It only asks that the revelation shall be genuine. It is concerned with that beauty and truth demans perfect expression. It is the spirit that breaks through the form that is the main interest of criticism. About Author :
John Stephen was born in 1960. His father was a teacher, and he was educated at Johannesburg Bantu High School. After leaving school he trained first as a teacher at Pretoria Bantu Normal College and he graduated from the University of South Africa. after three years as a high school teacher he began to study literature. He devoted to further English literature study in England leading up to a Master of Literature. He taught english literature in South Africa before returning to England and now he is assistant director of a theological institute of London.
