Indian thrillers come of age Review by BuntyThe book Enemy in the Ranks is probably a first in it's genre in India, thrillers. It was a pleasure to lay my hands on a book which was completely different from the usual diatribe of everything that is wrong with the country, poverty, corruption, customs etc. With the country being a victim of terrorism so often in the past, the author has finally taken the step to bring the subject into the literary world.
The book is tremendously paced and just couldn't put it down. I finished it in a single reading. Covering the aspect of terrorists infiltrating important establishments of the country, the story is of an unlikely hero fighting against his own to prove himself right. A fiction based on the armed forces of the country is a rarity and the story gives an insight into naval operations and how terror could engulf us in more ways than what we have imagined or experienced so far. I recommend the book highly. Maybe this book will usher in a new era of good stories in the Indian fiction field.
The release has been aptly timed with 26/11 around the corner.
