The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts exams to select candidates to fill clerical and executive posts in various nationalized banks across the country.

The exam for selection to clerical posts, the IBPS Clerical Cadre Common Written Exam (CWE), is an objective type paper for a duration of two hours. It has five sections - Reasoning, Numerical Ability, English Language, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge.

Each section consists of 40 questions, one mark each. The total for the whole paper is 200 marks. The penalty for a wrong answer is a quarter of a mark.
