Book: Enter Into His Rest Minnick contends that his "bottom line" teaching will clarify, quantify, and simplify the "Sabbath" and what the believer's role is in respect to it and the Lord of the Sabbath.
There have been scores of teachings and books on the subject of the "Sabbath." However, it appears that none of them have ever actually had a bottom-line understanding of what it is and why it is important (other than in bias regard to the respective author's doctrine). The teachings have simply been a re-enforcement of a particular church doctrine and have not expressed what the Lord is trying to accomplish in the earth with His people. In short, these untruthful (a partial truth is not "the truth") doctrinal expressions are just legalism which do not consider either the New Testament or the entirety of the Word of God. Such "cut and paste" theology disallows an exegesis within scriptural context and, frankly, such theology simply isn't necessary. Subsequently, by not having a complete understanding of the Sabbath, in a New Testament context, they negate the work of Christ on the cross and leave the hearers hopeless, faithless, without peace, and without the fullness of the covenant promises of God in Christ. Few (Christian) subjects have had more written about it with such ineffectual results and with so little understanding. This "bottom line" teaching will clarify, quantify, and simplify the "Sabbath" and what the believer's role is in respect to it and the Lord of the Sabbath. Randy Minnick
