About G. Subba Rao and P. N. Roy Chowdhary

P. N. Roy Chowdhary is a retired IAS officer. He has authored books like the CSAT Conceptual Approach to Paper II. Chowdhary got his MSc Finance degree from the Strathclyde University, Glasgow, and went to the University of Rochester, USA, for an MBA programme. He is currently the Director General of Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration in Ahmedabad and the Joint President of Strategic Planning at Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited.

G. Subba Rao is a retired IAS officer and an Indian author. He was also appointed as the Chairman of Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission from 2003 to 2008. Rao has also worked as the Chief Secretary for the Government of Gujarat.

Average book.

The good thing is that it gives you a skeleton of what to read.
However, the language is not that great. Things have not been simplified. Very few concepts have been explained via illustration, most are just thrown at the reader.
The case studies are also average.

The only reason I would recommend this book is because there are no other references available currently that have a holistic coverage of this paper.

nice book

the book is nicely printed book with good contents, overall a good book, can give it a look, but do not depend much on this book, one downgrade is that most of the book is essay type...which makes a little off while reading..important points needs to be searched so a little more demanding book, i would say combine this with some other materials which will make your preparation better.

Nice product

A good book for beginners. A comprehensive guide where topics have been dealt in a simple and lucid way. It provides the basic fodder over which an aspirant can develop his understanding of ethics. However, the book could have been better if the authors have had incorporated more case studies and more examples.
Nevertheless, it is still one of the best books after the Chronicle' Lexicon to deal with GS paper IV of Civil services mains exam.

Very Nice Book

This is a very nice book on the topic. I can't find a better book on this subject which is available in the market. Always keep in mind that no book is complete in its own. I have bought the book for Uttarakhand PCS Mains and I think it will certainly serve the purpose. Buy it.

Worth to read

For UPSC aspirants , it'll be very useful to overview about the ethical knowledge before exam
Some definitions are so brief but the author try to cover all topics in ethics.
I assure you, When you read you can touch maximum all general topics in ethics.

its pretty ok

As i remember reading in an earlier review, the book does a good job of listing out the topics to be prepared for the examination. But of course, the book is not a one stop solution for ethics, unlike polity by laxmikanth or bipan chandra for national movement. But if you're preparing on your own, and need a few starters, then this book is actually not bad. At present this has to be the best book availaible for the purpose in the market. a great book from great authers

a very nicely written book with updated information.i have other books also of this subject but i find this books on the top in comparison with others.thumps up to this book.i also decided to buy GS paper 1 and 2 of access publishing because one of my friend told me about them and told me that these books are also one of the best books in the market.
