  • Description

Ethics, Integrity and Responsibility: The Leader’s Imperative, edited by J. Carl Ficarrotta is a collection of essays, which are originally the Reich and McDermott lectures given at the U. S. Air Force Academy from 1988 to 1999.

    Summary of the Book

This book is a collection of essays and the contributors have been some of the notable and veteran military leaders, jurists, philosophers, politicians and educationalists. A few names are Allan Bloom, John T. Noonan, General Ronald R. Fogelman, Christina Hoff Sommers, Reverend Edward A. Malloy and William J. Bennett. The subjects covered in this book range from military and war to leadership, integrity, responsibility, morality, ethics, ducation, character and philosophy. The book keenly probes on human values and the inner demons, while understanding some of the most poignant and inhuman events in the history of mankind. The book is melancholic, in a way it leaves the readers in deep thoughts about the virtues and vices that man has always known to torn between. And while pondering upon the past events, the book cautiously explains what the need of the present hour is and how shaping up the future depends on integrity and value and respect for human life. The book could not have been more perfectly timed as war, destruction, injustice and other inhuman occurrences are still haunting not just people but all life.
