This, the third book in "The State and European Union" series, considers the way in which the European Union has affected authonomy in macroeconomic policy-making of the four larger member states: Britain, Germany, Italy and France. The contributors, consisting of political scientists and economists, analyse how EU actions have affected the attitudes and strategies of key national and international actors, such as political elites, national bureaucracies, financial markets and central banks.
