Everything You Wanted to Know About Stock Market Investing does exactly what its title claims to do. While there is a general consensus that playing the stock market has made many a millionaire, there are enough people out there who are wary of the fact that the bears and the bulls can be pretty unpredictable.
While it is easy to make a fortune in the stock market, it’s equally easy to lose a fortune while playing for it.
This is where Everything You Wanted to Know About Stock Market Investing scores. It starts off with the basic presumption that the reader is a novice in the game. After introducing the reader to the bare basics, the book gradually widens its horizons and talks about stock market investments. The book comes with pictorial representations to ensure that the reader does not have to plough through pages of material. At the same time, efforts have been made to play down the financial jargons that normally make a newbie investor nervous about his ability to make profitable deals.
After going through the 200-odd pages, readers will have a pretty good grasp on how the primary and secondary markets work, what makes a good investment strategy, how to allocate funds, what stock market terms like IPO mean, and how IPOs can help a person make a mark as a smart investor.
The book is written in an engaging manner. Readers who are looking to venture into stock investments can use the ready-made references in the check-lists that are provided at the end of each chapter, and this will help them be sure that they have covered all the bases. There are also summaries at the end of each chapter and these provide a concise review of the key points discussed in each chapter.
The book provides tips on how to carry out accurate financial and technical analysis. It even dishes out advice on tax policy. The Tax Impact on Equities section gives a succinct overview on how to calculate tax liabilities and on the taxes that are applicable on investors.
The section on Complaints and Grievances should reassure cautious investors who are sitting in the sidelines because they fear that any problems they face in the stock market are unlikely to be resolved. Other chapters in the book include Online Trading: Opens Windows, Secondary Market: The Basics, Equity in Your Financial Plan: A Must Have, How to Invest in an IPO: A Primer, Rules for Equity Investing: A Roundup, and Cost Factor: Never to Forget.
Everything You Wanted to Know About Stock Market Investing is aimed at making life easier for investors and it succeeds in its objective.

The marketing ploy is quite creative with the free demat account opening, but the content is non-creative. This books doesn't excite anyone and is more like a small manual. If more people are too invest they need to be a bit more creative. I have got a chance to read a copuple of books from CNBC, but somehow have only liked Yogesh Chabria's Happionaire series which they published, I am curious why they are not getting any new books published under the Happionaire series....so much happening.
if u being a newbie to stock market, thinking to buy this book then please don't coz, i made the same mistake few months back and wasted money buying this book. this book instead of educating you, will confuse you and also the content they have provided in the book doesn't talks about stock market education but apart from that they are promoting kotak securities all the time. so instead of buying this explore the word.wide.web and personally meet some broker.
This book primarily aims to market Kotak securities' demat account which is one of the costliest demat accounts. The data provided give only a bird's eye view of investing. No strategies are given. There is no point in reading what this book has provided. I contacted the person for free demat account , but I haven't got any reply yet. Waste of money! One can find better tutorials in investopedia.com
A very good book for people who are about to start investing. It defines all the terms you will come across when you invest. It can be read in a single day as its a very small book. But this should not be the only book you read. The more you invest in reading the more you will gain money wise :)
This book is a pretty good intro to the world of stock market investing and helpful for those who have almost nil knowledge about the world of investing. It did help me a lot to know how actually I need to go about investing(basic investment philosophy and tips). Most of the topics have been sufficiently covered and I think this book is a good buy, more so because it has become even cheaper(rs299) than when I bought it(rs 384/-).
And of course flipkart is exemplary its its service.I placed my order at 3 in the morn and called up at 4 am to confirm the order and it was already packed by then.:)
