Ceravntes was one of the most influential men of the 16th century in Spain. He was a playwright, poet, novelist and painter. His novel Don Quixote is his best known work. Cervantes has been called The Prince of Wits. Cervantes wrote these twelve short novels as examples. He hoped that each one would give the reader an example or lesson to be learned.
