more elaborative but informative some times little decorative
book covers most of the aspects of culture and brings an idea about all corners of Indian culture but there are important lacking like absence of figures mentioning about ministry of culture and societal adaptation influence of culture present trends of culture and at least some points about its present vulnerability or glory is absent. presentation is also not straight order and no proper chronological which resulted no idea about evolution of culture with time due to additions and deletions...

If you have good rote memory...then buy it.
We don't have much options for culture so we usually land on it at the end.Otherwise I don't enjoy it at all.Its like you are bombarding with information.In every line you have facts to mug up.I am a human being not a super computer.It should contain some pictures to present at least dances and art forms.Its too difficult to imagine everything.Really its very hard to retain anything even after reading it several times. Plz make it little interesting ....

As their is no other material available to prepare Indian Culture paper this book can give some hope, it may have small font or paper quality not good, but this reason is not sufficent to underestimate this book....This book is very good for base building.....as cost is also low...... if after reading this book one would refer to NIOS book......

you can get it in less price @ 180 rupees at old rajinder nagar at new delhi
the book is good and covers a lot of material related to culture but still i couldn't find answers to questions asked in 2013 pre exam.

For civils
The book is boring but informative and besides almost everyone preparing for civils reads it. The font is very small which does not help either... But considering there are no better alternatives to it in the market (as far as I know), one can buy it and read it in several readings....
