The Fault in Our Stars (Paperback) Price: Rs.214

With a fresh and contemporary voice, John Green, author of Looking for Alaska, tells the story of a cynical teenage cancer sufferer who unexpectedly falls in love. The no-holds barred wit, sensitivity and sharp observations of lead character Hazel mean that The Fault in Our Stars will move you to laugh and cry in equal measures as she falls for the charm of Augustus, who she meets at a cancer support group. Already a teen classic, this profound book is an unforgettable read that has now been adapted into a major film, starring Divergent's Shailene Woodley and Ansel Engort in the lead roles. This is a special film tie-in edition of the poignant bestseller.

Loved it..!!!

???May I see you again?" he asked. There was an endearing nervousness in his voice.

I smiled. "Sure."

"Tomorrow?" he asked.

"Patience, grasshopper," I counseled. "You don't want to seem overeager.

"Right, that's why I said tomorrow," he said. "I want to see you again tonight. But I'm willing to wait all night and much of tomorrow." I rolled my eyes. "I'm serious," he said.

"You don't even know me," I said. I grabbed the book from the center console. "How about I call you when I finish this?"

"I strongly suspect you wrote it in this book."

He broke out into that goofy smile. "And you say we don't know each other.???

John Green. John Green. John Green. You're not like Peter Van Houten, are you?

I HATE this book. Absolutely hate it. Not just from the bottom of my heart (which would literally mean my ventricles, and so, no) but with my whole heart. I hate it, hate it, hate it.

I hate the fact that it made me laugh, so hard!
I hate the fact that it made me smile, so much!
I hate the fact that it made me chuckle, so profusely!

I hate the fact that it gifted me with so much Laughter, Smiles and Chuckles when I was expecting to come face to face with tragedy at any moment....it changed my expectations, made me believe in Something which did not happen...or maybe did happen.

I hate the fact that while Hazel Grace fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once , I just fell ...no warning, no time to process the myriad emotions coursing through me, nope, nothing, just a huge endless void-filled fall and then a sudden crash that took my breath away, like literally...

The Fault in Our Stars

The fault in Our Stars by John Green is an amazing book. I was little curious about it when I noticed that this book had topped best selling charts of the New York Times. I knew it was meant for young readers which I am not really at fifty two; however, I was eager to know about the general taste of English language readers, and specifically of the teenagers of America.
Being myself a writer from India, I was looking for the elements that had made the book a hit. I had an impression that perhaps I won`t be able to empathize with the teen American sentiments. Surprisingly I found a story tha...

Being myself a writer from India, I was looking for the elements that had made the book a hit. I had an impression that perhaps I won`t be able to empathize with the teen American sentiments. Surprisingly I found a story that revolved around two young cancer survivors (a misnomer, because both will eventually succumb from their respective cancers), with an eternal emotions of love and yearning; though both knew that they had only few months left. It`s heartrending, poignant with glimpses of quirky humorous moments like throwing eggs on the car of a snooty girlfriend by her dumped blind lover. I enjoyed the book, for its simple story, unpretentious, warm and spontaneous.

John Green's excellency on full display.

What can I say, John Green has played his magic fantastically in The Fault In Our Stars. I was hooked from the first chapter. The guy knows perfectly fine how to capture our feelings and squeeze out the laughs and the tears.
I absolutely fell in love with the way he depicts the character of Augustus Waters. I can't even get jealous of Hazel 'cause even her character is so wonderfully pictured.
Coming down to the real world...cancer. This book made me cry and now I feel it in my bones HOW the families and friends of cancer patients deal with life. This is harsh reality pictured in the live...

Coming down to the real world...cancer. This book made me cry and now I feel it in my bones HOW the families and friends of cancer patients deal with life. This is harsh reality pictured in the lives of two teenagers who had only JUST begun to live their life.
Absolutely wonderful. I'm awaiting this movie that releases on June 6th.

NOTE : I STRONGLY SUGGEST PEOPLE TO READ THE BOOK FIRST AND THEN WATCH THE MOVIE.

Understand your character. Look into the words. Cry. Laugh. Sit by the window. Stay up late at night. Above all, DON'T BE AFRAID TO FEEL.

DO NOT hesitate to buy the book.

Worth a read!

It makes you laugh, it makes you cry, and you still come back for more every-time. It has a story unlike you have ever read anywhere else, a different story altogether which makes you empathize with the victims and not sympathize. Buy it read it and read it again and again. (View complete review)

Mediocore

Its the same old cliche of falling in love and subsequently encountering death!! Inspite of that the book has a tinge of uniqueness to it, which will eventually leave the readers hooked on till the end. (View complete review)
