Summary Of The Book

Anastasia Steele is a 21-year-old senior at college studying literature where she meets her best friend, Kate Kavanagh. Kate writes for the campus newspaper and when she falls sick, she persuades Ana to go in her place for the interview. The person who she needs to interview is 27-year-old Christian Grey, an exceptionally successful entrepreneur cum magnate. And this is how the star crossed lovers meet for the first time.

As she encounters Christian Grey in person she is impressed and attracted to the intimidating persona. As she dismissed her fantasies due to her own inadequacies, Christian soon surprises her when he saves her life and they embark on a journey of erotic adventure and ultimately love. The searing love affair spans across the three books.

In Fifty Shades Darker, Anastasia is pulled back into the relationship from which she had left due to Christian’s need for a dominant/submissive relationship. This contract implicates Ana into an erotic relationship that does not allow for any romance or love. She can’t resist him however when he suggests a new agreement and quickly they resume their passionate affair. This time around, Ana learns more about his past and is caught in a series of dangerous events due to her involvement with Christian. The relationship is tested more as they reveal themselves to each other, resulting in a number of intimate and tender moments.

The last book in the series, Fifty Shades Freed is the final leg in their journey where both Christian and Ana find themselves enfolded in a series of encounters that neither could have anticipated. With the daunting task of loving Christian in all his shades, she also has to straddle events threatening her close circle of friends.

Erika Mitchell also known as E. L. James is a British author of the bestselling Fifty Shades trilogy.

James was born in 1963 and grew up in Buckinghamshire and went on to attend history at the University of Kent. She wrote fan fiction under the pseudonym, Snowqueen’s Icedragon before developing the Fifty Shades Trilogy. She has been named among Time magazine’s World’s 100 Most Influential People in 2012. Her magnum opus has set the record as the fastest selling paperback of all time. She has been awarded Book of the Year award by National Book Award for Fifty Shades of Grey. She currently resides in West London with her husband and two sons.
