I didn't bother with FF XIII because of all the awful reviews that it got. I thought that maybe the sequel would be an improvement seeing as how everyone kept talking about the improved battle system.
One word to all those people - SHUT UP! Ok, that's two words. But seriously, this battle system was an improvement? I shudder to think what the original was like. The characters are the typical cute japanese chick and the androgynous youth, the story, though it tries to be deep and engaging, comes out as unnecessarily and artificially complex and the time-jump system, though nifty, just isn't worth it, seeing as how there's no real battle system to support the game. Auto-battling will take you through a huge part of the game. I didn't bother after reaching level 30, so I don't know if you can use it to go further or not, but there was no evidence to suggest that you can't. This over-simplifying of the RPG genre will kill it for good, imo and should be discouraged.
My advice? Dump this pile of shit and go for Tales of Graces F. Sure, it doesn't have the graphic polish of FF XIII-2, but the battle system is awesome and the characters are pretty well-written.
Despite all the "glowing" reviews about the FFXIII-2, I ordered it. Why? Simple, it's final fantasy and I love it. I don't have favourites in this series and I didn't mind the linearity of this title's prequel. The combat gameplay is smooth and looks as beautiful as you expect it to. The graphics are well done, through and through. It is not the best RPG in the market but if you enjoy final fantasy games and have a liking for some crazy gameplay then you should go for this game. Also, Flipkart's delivery time window was brilliant, got the product the very next day.
FFXIII-2 is a good sequel to the FFXIII. The story builds up after the events in FFXIII. The Battle system is very similar to FFXIII except for the fact that the 3rd memeber of your party is a monster!. Yes! Monster taming and building them up is a nice new mechanic in the game. the Crystalarium is also changed and allows for completely different sort of builds. If you liked FFXIII get it.
This Game is a good adventure game, the graphics are superb and the story is also a fine sequel but to the final fantasy fans this game is not a type of game in which you can explore huge cities and places like in Final Fantasy 12. If you are a RPG fan this game is not for you but for adventure game fans enjoy and also lightning is not there and the third member in your party is a monster.
As is to be expected from the FF series, a good sequel to Final Fantasy XIII, which was an amazing game. But to really enjoy the full game, the DLC (downloadable content) is recommended. You can also unlock sazh, snow and lightning as PCs (playable characters). Quick delivery - received in 3 days.
