Description

The Fires of Heaven is the fifth book in Robert Jordan’s The Wheel of Time fantasy fiction series.

Summary of the Book

Rand al’Thor is running out of time. He needs to master Saidin, the male half of the One Power, soon, and the Aes Sedai can no longer help him. He decides to take the Forsaken Lanfear’s advice and use an unconventional teacher, one who definitely knows a lot about Saidin. Yet, he knows that trusting this person is as advisable as trusting a Myrddraal. In the White Tower, the Aes Sedai are getting anxious. Siuan Sanche begins to wonder how much longer her plans are going to work without exploding in her face. She may not have much longer to orchestrate events in her favour. Rand has managed to gather the Aiel under his banner, but they see him more as a Chief than a King. He has yet to deal with the renegade Aiel who disbanded after he told them the truth about their past. The Shaido will do anything to kill him, and he cannot leave them running rampant in the world. Matrim Cauthon is struggling with his strange memories. All he has ever wanted is to run away from the epicentre of the action. He doesn’t realize running away is going to be a gamble even he cannot win. The Dark One is rallying his troops. Sammael has managed to sink his teeth into one of the kingdoms, Demandred is running around carrying out a strange errand for his master, Lanfear is still pretending to want to share the mad power of the massive Sa’angreal with Rand, and Moghedien haunts the world of dreams. The Wheel of Time turns and the age that is called the Third Age by some may yet reel from the chaos of the Dark One’s touch. Yet, there is hope, for there is always hope. The Dragon will once again ride on the winds of time.

Compelling !!!!

The story weaves further...keeps you entangled in laughter, glory, tensions and tragedy of Rand, Mat, Nayvene, Elayne, Egwene and Moiraine. 2 Forsakens are put to end and 2 are caught up and yet there is tragedy and sorrow for readers over an unexpected death of a loved charachter but then "wheel wills as the wheel weaves".....Jordan catches the imagination of the readers and one waits with a bated breath to start the next in saga of "the wheel of time".
