Flames of Passion by Bobbe Jo Combs Review by Normajean GerdesAn American photographer, Sam ( Samantha) Sterling is hired to replace a photographer, who is injured during a political rebellion in Ecuador, and to assist Parker Hammond finish a documentary / pictorial for a New York publisher on the Ecuadorian culture and lifestyle.
Calandra, a friend of Sam’s who is also on the assignment, suggests Sam for the job since she is well qualified, but fails to tell Parker that Sam is a woman. Because of the misunderstanding their encounter meets with conflict.
After several busy, and sometimes frightful, weeks in Ecuador, the assignment is over and Sam returns to the United States. It is not until then that Parker realizes he is in love with Samantha. They face many challenges, and it seems as if they will never get together.
Interesting people involved in their lives, besides Calandra, are Dr. Paul Allison, Helga Johannsen, Grant McMillan, Cameron Larrington, Parker’s parents, Sam’s aunt Theresa and uncle Jim, and others, as well as a cat named Pouncer, and a dog named Doozer. The story of Parker and his parents is intriguing in itself.
With the book’s many delightful twists and turns, it could make it’s way onto the big screen.
