Fujifilm FinePix AX300 Point & Shoot

I ordered this camera on 16th Sep, 2011 and got it on 22nd Sep, 2011. So now when I use it I found it much more than worth of money paid.
Let me express my experience in points-
1. 14MP resolution is awesome. It gives you enormous image with high clarity.

2. 5x optical zoom is not what I had thought but actually I didn't know the value of 5x. I had expected it to be a little higher. Still its quite good and reasonable at this price range.

3. SR Auto mode is awesome. It gives the best out of the situations. I used it under every ambient situation and it just produced an awesome picture every time. AUTO mode is also too good and produces fairly good pictures in less power consumption.

4. Smile & shoot mode is something to make fun with.. :)

5. Flower mode (Close up) produces very fine structural elements very clear and fills a true life in the image because of the clarity.

6. I haven't checked Video mode yet as I have bought it only for taking pictures.

7. AA size 2700mAh Ni-MH batteries are recommended to buy with this camera but for an occasional photo-taker and generally stays at home, another pair of AA size alkaline batteries would be more economical and sufficient. If you travel a lot, 2700mAh Ni-MH batteries are must for you.

8. Aesthetically superb. Its very light and compact. The only weight is because of batteries. And your right hand remains on them and rest part is quite light hence its very balanced and easy to handle.

9. Its playback is fine. (Not checked for videos)

10. Blur reduction and motion tracking for fast moving objects is quite satisfying and unmatchable to that of the cameras of same price range.

And after all for flipkart, you guys are really awesome at service and support.

I have purchase this camera from flipkart on 10th Oct Night and they delivered it on 15th Oct at 11:00. So must say that flipkart delivery is superb. But the camera I got was faulty and was having a red line on LCD.So complain to flipkart and the good thing is that they have replaced this on 15 Oct. So must say that flipkart is superb in their delivery.
Now move towards camera. If you will compare this camera with its features from leading brands you will find value for money.
It has every thing which a good camera should have like:
Face detection
Smile detection
Panorama for large pictures
720p HD recording
several other features which you will find useful.
will recommend if your budget is near 4500 and still you want all the good feature...
Overall a good camera and with best service from flipkart.

ok ok types....

when I use it I found following drawbacks... i'll be talking about the drawbacks first....

1. 5x optical zoom is not what I had thought but it ashly depreciates the quality of snaps when taken at full zoom (note: i'm talking only about optical zoom and not digital zoom)

2. SR Auto mode and Auto mode both are awesome, but when snaps clicked under artificial lights (in quite bright environment)the snaps are taken automatically w/o flash which decreases the quality...the case is just opposite when forced flash is used i.e night mode.

3. the quality of snaps is v bad when a snap with a low battery is clicked , So it is highly recommended not to use camera when ever first battery low alarm flashes on your screen...recharge your batteries and den proceed...this is the major drawback i found.

4. talking about the video quality, its nice but the major problem with it is "whenever an object captured under a light source i.e cfl, tube light, bulb or taken in day light but through a window pane , a dark blue reflection of light coming from the source is displayed in the camera screen and the bad news is that prominent line is shown when u playback the video too.... :("

5. No forced flash mode in video mode given...i.e videos can only b shot w/o flash, bt who is buying this cam for shooting videos...

6. Batteries are not much worth it if u r a frequent user...have to keep a spare pair..

positives:

4. Uses AA batteries(most handy while you are on the run).
5. Macro Mode is awesome (best).
6. snaps clicked under bright day light are fabulous.
7. flash is good (but only for 3meters range).
8. snaps quality v.much satisfying.
9. snaps of texts pages are pretty much lyk scanned output (quite handy scanner ;))

After so much of research and comparisons with other brands in this range I bought this camera and after using it I can say that I made a good choice and decision. This camera is far ahead in comparison to all models of Canon and Nikon which are falling under the range of 4k to 6k.I am a Canon fan since I have used it for long time in the past , hence was not so sure if this camera would turn out to be good for me , but the results are awesome. Would recommend this to all who want a camera stuffed with features in 5k range.
Some remarkable results which I found:
* The 5X zoom is super, I clicked an image of a stack of bus tyres and a tractor parked near to that at a very distant place. When I saw that photo I was able to count the number of tyres and the company's name of the tractor marked on it which was impossible to see with open eyes. It was just unbelievable. It has anti blur and image stabilization feature which really works, panorama feature is one of the rare in this price range.
* The setting modes are not so user friendly like Canon, but I got the hang after exploring and using it often times.
* This camera comes with 4 batteries and one charger 2 batteries as Panasonic alkaline non rechargeable batteries which are not so reliable and will be drained very soon. There are other 2 batteries (2100MaH) which comes with the charger ( Envie Battery Charger ) these are good ones and perform well after charge of 10 to 11 hrs.
* Last but most important about Flipkart - Delivery well ahead of time, great packing, good customer service ....... 5 stars to Flipkart.

This is the best camera one can possess if his/her budget is up to Rs 5000. This striking features of this camera are:
1) Excellent screen display
2) Simple technical controls
3) Option for HD video recording
4) Different modes which makes the camera a realistic one
5) 14 megapixels lens and a sensor which senses the right mode for taking appropriate pictures.

A 4GB camera memory card is provided which supports only 9mins41sec video recording which is very low. If you decide to purchase this camera only for photo shooting purpose, the memory card is suitable for you. But if you want it for both or video shooting purpose(s), I would suggest you to buy a suitable compatible 16/32 GB camera memory card. You will be happy to buy this camera in the long run. Mark my words!!!
