Fundamentals of Investing in Equities and Assets That Create Wealth

There are loads of books available on investing today. What sets this book apart from the herd is its comprehensiveness. It covers almost every aspect a lay person should be aware of. It introduces so many concepts – the various forms of investing, margin of safety, fundamental analysis etc. Simply applying these concepts to all investments- not just equities – would be beneficial.

There are many hidden gems- CAGR, Rule of 72, Price Spread etc. I particularly like the way the authors have covered concepts like p/e, eps, peg, and other investor ratios. We don’t get bogged down by lengthy explanations. Instead, the authors seem to have made the effort to give just the right amount of introduction to these concepts.

The book also covers important topics which beginner investors often overlook - like the importance of first putting together an investment thesis and developing an investment philosophy – and the necessity of developing the needed investor traits and characteristics. To find such wealth of information in one book, is just AWESOME.

Also, one thing that I really loved was the way the authors have introduced investment philosophies of various investors around the world. I will now develop my own investment philosophy based on these guys and as outlined by the authors.

Yogesh and Anubha have got it on spot this time. Many professionals who are not from the finance field, like me, find it difficult to manouvere the maze of financial investments and the terms are mind boggling.
This book breaks myths like investing in Equity is dangerous and is speculative etc. It simplifies and explains in lucid language financial terminologies. It lays the foundations of investment philosophies guiding us to understand the basics /fundamentals thereby helping us develop a discerning eye and weigh the pros and cons before investing, by ourselves, rather go by the "herd mentality"

As a doctor the analogy that I can think of is that without knowing the Anatomy and Physiology of the Human body one cannot be proficient in diagnosing and arriving at the right remedy. Likewise,without being aware of the "Fundamentals of Investing in Equities and Assets That Create Wealth" one cannot make the right financial decisions in life.

I would recommend this book to all those who would like to foray into investing! It sure helped me a lot!

I had read a book by the same author titled “Invest the Happionaire way” since then I love the way he illustrate things that one can understand very easily. His advice with regard to how to make money is simply to let the market do the work for you. If you are patient enough and your dreams are reasonable, this just might be a good strategy for you. His new book helped me a lot in understanding things better as the authors of the book have written it in step-by-step manner, from beginning to advance level. I urge you to buy the book… you would love it…..In other words, if you clip coupons, this is the investment book for you. The example shows an intriguing and creative way to look at some of your everyday purchases and the time value of money.

I had read a book by the same author titled “Invest the Happionaire way” since then I love the way he illustrate things that one can understand very easily.
