The Game Changers: 20 Extraordinary Success Stories Of Entrepreneurs From IIT Kharagpur comprises real stories of IITians who chose an unconventional path to become successful entrepreneurs.

    Summary Of The Book

Being an entrepreneur is a difficult choice and one needs to tread on a path often less taken by others. Entrepreneurship is not just about breaking the routine of a boring nine to five job, but it is more about coming out of one’s comfort zone and following a tough path with single minded passion. Successful entrepreneurs use their ideas as an anchor to sail smoothly. The Game Changers: 20 Extraordinary Success Stories Of Entrepreneurs From IIT Kharagpur is a collection of stories of 20 such entrepreneurs.

IITians put in lot of effort to get into India’s most reputed engineering institute. But once they complete their education, many lucrative career options await them. However, not every IITian aims to get into an MNC and some opt for the different path of entrepreneurship. They have an idea that motivates them to reject a comfortable job and pushes them to follow their big dreams. The book traces the story of such IITians who made it big in their lives by following their passion.

The director of IIT-Kharagpur, Dr. Damodar Acharya has written the introduction for The Game Changers: 20 Extraordinary Success Stories Of Entrepreneurs From IIT Kharagpur. A Foreword has been penned by Dr. D. Subbarao, the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. It includes stories of some famously known personalities such as Sridhar Mittal, Bikram Dasgupta, Anuradha Acharya, Ventakata Subramaniam, Suhas Patil, Harish Hande, Krishna Mehta, Ranbir Singh Gupta, Vikram Kumar, Sunil Gaitonde, Arjun Malhotra, Anand Deshpande, Vinod Gupta, Praful Kulkarni, Kiran Seth, Arvind Kejriwal, Vijay Kumar, Sam Dalal, Prabhakant Sinha and Bikash Barai. Besides these stories, the author also provides valuable insights and experienced advice from these personalities.

IIT-Kharagpur was the first IIT in India, and since its foundation its alumni have become an inspiration for millions of other Indians. The Game Changers: 20 Extraordinary Success Stories Of Entrepreneurs From IIT Kharagpur marks the 60 golden years of one of the finest engineering institutes in India. These inspiring stories of some of the most successful alumni of IIT-Kharagpur are motivational enough to make people believe in their dreams and build their own story.

Awesome Inspiring and Simply Excellent !!

The description of this book was what caught my attention, and I ended up buying a copy.

The book stays true to its title and provides an inspiring and exciting account of how 20 entrepreneurs from IIT Kharagpur changed the way the 'game' is played. They risked their career and turned down white collar job offers to start something of their own. The ups and downs faced by them in their endeavors to do something different makes one think how big dreams are achieved.

    The extraordinary style ...

    Inspiring!

The book takes us through very interesting journeys of a 20 IIT-Kharagpur alumni who made some difference in the world. I particularly loved the piece on Harish Hande. All the writers have done a wonderful job of writing and editing the stories.

Considering the grim picture of entrepreneurship and production in India, I hope this books inspires many young minds to take a leap.

    Redefining the word "Passion"

Very good read for every student and exciting too if you are a student of IIT kharagpur. Its a very good attempt by the young authors , but the book shows off the inexperience of the authors. Books like these will further increase the Brand value of the IIT's among the students . Its a must read for IIT aspirants. This book also provides good insights of the various problems faced by an entrepreneur in his adventurous journey.

    Excellent stories, poor writing

Most of the success stories are very inspiring. Undoubtedly there's a lot to learn from these brilliant minds. But the underwhelming accounts in this book simply fail to do justice to them. Book-writing is an art : a point the authors seem to have completely missed. The authors simply decided to join the bandwagon and create a typical "wanna-be" (or as some other reviewer rightly said "me too") book. Given the caliber of those entrepreneurs, I believe they deserve a a book from authors who ac...
