Gandhi Nehru, Tagore And Other Eminent Personalities Of Modern India takes a detailed and biographical look at the distinguished personalities and lives of Gandhi, Nehru, and Tagore, along with other great thinkers who have been considered the catalysts of Modern Post-Independence India.

    Summary Of The Book

Indian Independence was achieved after years of great struggle, toil, and determination on the part of many brave men and women of India who devoted their lives to their country, taking it from the hands of the British Rule, and building it brick by brick. It was an immense challenge at the time, to liberate India from the shackles of orthodox traditions and rigid customs that were holding back progress, in order to lay a foundation for a strong India that would stand apart and hold its own, as an independent nation with its distinct culture and socio-economic thought.

Among these Indians, the names of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Rabindranath Tagore continue to stand out, who, in their own individual capacities as political leaders and great thinkers, made significant contributions towards shaping India as a nation, impacting the minds of the masses, and influencing India’s socio-economical development at this time of cultural awakening.

Gandhi Nehru, Tagore And Other Eminent Personalities Of Modern India presents the detailed biographies of these three architects of modern India, and also takes a brief look at the lives of many other eminent leaders who stood out in terms of their ideas, actions, and reform movements, that contributed to a modern and free India. Some of these personalities include, Annie Besant, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Dadabhai Naoroji, Jamnalal Bajaj, Jyotiba Phule, and many more.

This book chronicles the lives, ideologies, and philosophies, that embodied Gandhi, Nehru, and Tagore, considered ahead of their time, and known for their outspoken and controversial views, and revolutionary ideas. Even their harshest critics cannot deny the impact that they have had on India’s history and development, and the birth of Modern Post-Independence India.

Presenting a concise and accurate account of many famous personalities from the history of India, Gandhi Nehru, Tagore And Other Eminent Personalities Of Modern India is a highly useful book for students appearing for competitive examinations across different disciplines, as it provides a lot of learning material and biographical information, all in one book.
