Truthful narrationA good travelogue. The chapters convering details on how callously the waters of Ganga are let to get pollutated at Kanpur, mindless use of water pumps for irrigation to the extent of almost draining Ganga and plight of farmers loosing lands every year due to failed barriages can cause intense emotional disturbances. The chapter on Mysterious Factor X is very interesting and alas, the readers have to wait for this mystery to be solved conclusivey by our scientists.
I feel a fiction would have been more enthralling - travelogue making us believe that it is just "what is seen by everyone". At some places it appears that the author too naive to understand current politics, while at places he comes with great observations (such as speech on Ganga Project by Shri Rajiv Gandhi)
