General's 557BP Charcoal Pencil Kit

I haven't purchased this set of pencils yet (my set is getting over), I had merely inherited it from an aunt who had bought the set herself.

I have used charcoal pencils before, quite a bit in fact. I have used Camlin (don't even go there), Koh-i-Noor and Cretacolor (v good) and General's.

I like the fact its a set of just what you need - 3 blacks, a white and an eraser.
The pencil's are a dream to work with, don't powder as much as I thought they would (I find that to be a good thing). I end up using the 4B for almost all my work.

As for the white, I have only two white charcoal pencils- this one and a Conte. I would say this one is the best one I'v used so far.

I would suggest this set for beginners, and for artists who have worked with charcoal before. These are great for people who are just learning how to use charcoal cos they are so easy to work with - and of course artists are going to appreciate their quality.

Tip: these pencils work best when sharpened with a knife

Good charcoal, but the both Derwent charcoal pencil and Faber Castell charcoal pencils are as good as this . No even better than General charcoal pencils, and their cost is very very less than this.
