Gente's truly task-based approach to teaching language is a complete elementary Spanish program. The tasks are activities that have contexts, non-linguistic goals, linguistics goals, non-linguistics outcomes and linguistics outcomes that enable readers to learn the language and understand the culture. The task-based activities provide detailed grammar explanations and practice, an inclusive approach to cultures of Spanish-speaking cultures in a multitude of contexts such as gente con gente, gente de vacaciones, gente e historias, gente de cuidad, gente que lo pasa bien, gente con ideas, gente y mensajes and gente que lo pasa bien.
