Getting Through

There are many forms of language. The purpose of every language is to communicate, to impart our needs, our wants, our desires and our dreams to each other. Written language is one of the art forms of communication. Using words in written form to talk with each other, results in a multi-billion dollar publication industry that is worldwide. The written drives the internet and drives the cell phone industry through messege texting.
The ability to write well, to use the rules of grammar, sentence construction and spelling, allows students to achieve in school, beginning in kindergarten through graduate programs. When the ability to express ideas in written form fails, the barbeque doesn't get put together correctly, the program does not get installed correctly and the newspaper must retract information. Worse, people with ideas, motivation and drive do not get the access to the world they might otherwise get because they cannot compete in the post high school world, including university. Ms. Mitchell's book on the use of words in written form will help explain how to get through that freshman composition class. And it goes further: It imparts the joy of writing well and motivates the desire and use words to tell a personal story so that the connection with others will continue.
