Gigabyte GA-G41MT-S2 Motherboard

My old mother board (Intel D102GGC2) was not working so i have to order new Motherboard for my Intel Pentium D 820 processor.
I searched the net and came to the conclusion that This is the best motherboard that is still available for my processor.
It has dual channel Ram and supports up to 8GB(4gb per slot).
For best result use both slot together as it will utilize dual channel functionality. I am using Coarsier Value select RAM (2 * 2GB) two modules. It supports up to 8 usb port as 3 TB of hard disk.

My 4 year old DELL Inspiron 530 desktop has been giving us very good service for the first two years. Later it started acting up giving us issues mostly related to connecting to internet and sometime does not start up. We had to try restart many times. We lived with these issues as it was occurring occasionally.

I thought it was time to change the computer and was looking at the current desktop / laptop machines. Then I realized that the Core 2 duo processor in my current machine is still very good and more than enough to satisfy the basic browsing, microsoft office, photoshop etc. We dont use the computer for gaming at all. It was not worth spending another 20K for a new machine.

Then I saw flipkart reviews on motherboards and saw that a couple of others had good reviews about this motherboard. Since it was cheap I thought I will give it a try and ordered the board along with 4GB DDR3 RAM. Flipkart service as usual never failed to impress. I got the board and RAMs the next day. I installed the new motherboard with the 4GB RAM (The old motherboard had only 2GB DDR2 RAM)with all other components the same. Luckily I had the full version of Windows Ultimate and not the OEM version. Hence I just had to reinstall the 64-bot version again. The old machine had 32-bit version.

Once done, The computer behaves like a brand new machine now. The inherent problems related to internet connectivity vanished and it is absolutely smooth and fast now. The total amount spent was only Rs.3800 for the motherboard+RAM. I would highly recommend this board for people who are already having older generation Dual core, Core 2 duo processors with old motherboards using DDR2 RAMs. This upgrade is definitely worth it.

my old P4 PC had issues with the graphics and whenevr i used to play videos the pc used to shut down and also it used to freeze a lot and i knew that i hve to replace d mobo but wasnt sure which one to buy as its very difficult to get a compatible mobo for a 6-7 yrs old PC...i searched on FK and chkd the specs and reviews; found this one as the perfect replacement. replaced the mobo on my own and also bought corsair 4gb ram along with it. had some issues with connecting the front panel connector as the old cabinet front panel connector did not have the prongs for reset button in it. so had to remove the wires and connect the cables individually on the mobo. i am highly impressed and satisfied with this mobo and it has great graphix. i'v loaded windows 7 64bit ultimate and it works wonderfully well with the current h/w config. had to buy a new optical drive as it doesnt have the IDE connector on the mobo. one recomendation, plz do not buy the IDE to SATA convertors. they are crap and out of 10 only 2 works... its better to buy a new optical drive or hdd which has SATA port on it. all in all i would say that its a great product and i would recoment it to everyone...

Just switched to this motherboard as my old one(Asus P5N E SLI) had almost given up on me.So far the motherboard has been performing great.Have had a few issues with the processor getting overheated but i have ordered a new cooler from flipkart(Can't wait).Apart from that it being a pcie 2.0 capable motherboard can handle all the new age graphics cards.Currently im using HIS AMD/ATI RADEON 6670 HD and it runs flawlessly.This was the first time a built a computer on my own and Gigabyte has made things very user friendly.I was a bit nervous initially but ended up installing the motherboard with ease.If you are looking for a good cheap motherboard with new age graphics cards go for this one you would not regret it.I would however give this as a 4 because it does not have IDE Ports which ended up with me unable to install the exsisting DVD Writer.

It has been few months since I have bought this motherboard. Till now I have no issues and it is working flawlessly. Gigabyte makes good motherboards which also are good value for money.
Too bad this product is now discontinued.

I had to buy this since my ASUS motherboard stopped working after 3.5 years I purchased it. It is sad since it had 3 years warranty. Damn Planned Obsolescence.
Because of that I took the opportunity to upgrade my system. Below is my build,
