Display
The Gigaset A490 has a caller ID feature which shows you the caller's number on the illuminated display before you receive the call. This gives you the freedom to choose whether you want to pick up the phone or not.
Long Standby Time
Enjoy up to 177 hours of standby time as this cordless landline phone is powered by 2 x AAA Ni-MH batteries which can charged via an AC adapter. You can talk up to 6 hours on this cordless landline phone.
Memory
The Gigaset A490 has a phonebook feature which lets you store up to 80 contacts on to your phone. It has an integrated alarm clock, in case you need a daily reminder and a redial feature for the last 10 numbers.
ECO DECT
This feature is an energy-saving power supply that uses less energy than conventional cordless phones. It reduces the transmitting power from the handset to the base station according to the distance apart. You can even set the base station on ECO mode which allows you to manually reduce its transmitting power by up to 70%.

Good phone-has all one needs
Two month now using this phone. No issues at all, works well, good sound, practically no interference even though it is placed next to the WiFi router.
The battery holds very good charge, can go without charging for many days, user menu is simple and intuitive and sound quality is great. Cordless winner
Having used the Gigaset A490 for two weeks, I have only admiration for this light yet efficient device. Being fed up with our old world Panasonic cordless which was bulky, had a chubby dialpad and Panasonic specific battery(which had to be replaced time and again by "original" batteries from the grey market) I decided to opt for the Siemens tech-backed Gigaset. And I was surprised of its efficiency on so many counts!!

Nice product for its price
Been using it for 2-3 days now. Can say am satisfied with it so far.
The good:
1. Caller ID works with BSNL. Wasn't with my previous panasonic. Heard trouble with caller ID with panasonic handsets.
2. Loud ringer sound.
3. Handsfree with speakerphone on the handset!
4. Can store 80 contacts.
5. Holds messages about missed calls.
6. Battery life is pretty long!
7. No issues of interference with wireless even though they seem to use 2.4 Ghz.

Value for money spent.
Actually, I believe the phone is cheaper than expected. My dad loved this gift from me! The voice clarity, wireless range coverage and the sleek design, all contributes to the well spent money and hence a very satisfied customer. My Dad now roams around all over the house with this in his hand and the voice clarity doesn't get affected.

Gigaset A490 is sturdy & user-friendly avilable for lowest price at Flipkart.Best suited for home use.

1) small & handy design
2) crystal clear voice clarity
3) speaker phone with great clarity & caller id
4) phones operating range
only letdown on this product is it's ringtones are not audible & there aren't any nice ringtones in this phone.......otherwise it's a great a product.

Need a Cordless GO AND SEE MOTOROLA 2001
