What a film!

Definitely not for the average cinegoer, with severe shades of Vladimir Nabakov's "Lolita" with a psychological twist, the horror of the movie only comes out at the end. The situations that we see (but do not experience) as the camera explores the underbelly of Mumbai do nothing to lead up to the eventual reality of the end. The film needs severe editing and could then, perhaps, account for more than just storyline.

Grim and greasy

Awful film really . Just one of those half baked pseudo intellectual efforts by a director who seems to be in a haze most of the time , just like his leading lady . Sheer waste of time !
You need to understand and sympathize with the characters , to like a movie. But in this case you dont do that and ultimately end up feeling unconcerned with what's going on ... Despite the finale .

A Sick Director's Imagination

Thanks God I was empty stomach while watching this movie else would have vomited. Nothing more to say. Its a sick Director's imagination portraying her own more sicker wife to act this kind of role. This was 1st Hindi movie of my life in which I have to keep the ' Subtitle On ' in order to understand the dialouges.

Only for Kalki

That is what love can do. It can force the most thrilling director of the country to make a film only for his girlfriend. It is clearly not in the same league as Gulaal, DevD, No Smoking and Black Friday. The story, the layers, the actors, the pain ..it's all not there. It is instead like a diploma movie by an arrogant film student who refuses to understand that his film will ultimately be watched by others too. I hope the failure of this movie (I'm sure it will fail and not just commercially )should be like the bad india-england series earlier this year.

Girl Alone in Mumbai

Casting wise and acting wise good. Some of the characters I like the owner of the Massage parlour where Ruth (Kalki) works, Naseeruddin Shah one of Ruth's clients ironically a father like figure but not the same as being a boilogical father.
Chuttiapa as the villain cast in a very very different mould from the normal Mumbai gangsters one has seen so far.

So some interesting characters, interesting story but not gripping enough, dialogues could have been stronger especially towards the end. Film meanders a bit here and there, I felt Kalki was well casted and acting wise okay there …

One of the best this year

First & Foremost this film is not for the average cine-goer & not for those who believe the world is a very nice & cosy place o live in. This film like all other Kashyap films is real, about real people and their real lives. Rating it not as great as Kashyap's other films, but it's a good film nevertheless and must be seen. It is very satisfying to know that there are people like Kashyap, Vishal Bhardwaj & Dibakar Banerjee who make such realistic films.
Kalki has really grown from Dev D to this film and has really given an earnest performance as Ruth. Kudos to Anurag's team for never disa…

Good Movie

Go for it, the real story of whats going on with foreigners in India. How they are treated and the search for the father with a dark twisted ending is also very goood...over all an intense good movie with Excellent cast. Kalki Koechin steals the show and every bit of her screen presence can reflect the dedication that she put forward for the movie
