Globalising The Research Imagination

There is a considerable body of research in the social sciences and humanities on the implications of globalization for a wide range of social and cultural institutions and identities.

However, there is a relative lack of research on the implications of globalization for the research methods of the social sciences and humanities themselves. This book gives an understanding of how different fields of research seek to resolve the methodological questions, problems and issues that arise as a result of globalization, particularly in terms of the global movements of university scholars (including both students and staff).

It identifies and critically interrogates the various ways in which globalization reshapes research by drawing on the experiences and thoughts - including their structured interviews - of scholars who are foremost in their research fields, whose theories on globalization are extremely influential and inspirational in a number of different ways, and who are veryexperienced researchers in a global space.
